  • Rugby World Cup 2023

This bloke cycled onto the stadium. An uber eats rider, he had taken the wrong turn at the Arc de Triomphe so les gendarmes took him away to a floatin' prison hulk in the middle of the Seine.

    or so it looked.

Meanwhile the tournament kicked off with les Bluers as hosts takin' on the All Blacks. Now I look away for a few years ( The Wallabies are shyte nowadays) and I find that Ireland is world #1 and this French team are co-favourites. And. They proceeded to dismantle the taciturn Kiwis.

So. The Wallabies play Georgia. Tomorrow. Georgia the nation. Not the balmy state with questionable history.

England look rudderless without coach Eddie Jones. But could still surprise. Seth Afrikka will always be tough.

So. The world of sport continues apace. This goes for 7 weeks. That's longer than PM Truss.

Good game, although the kicking to and for got boring at times!

That suggests you thought England had a rudder with Eddie Jones, Jones had no idea or plan. SA a decent bet, as were France until Ntamack was injured.

OK. But he did pretty good to begin with. World Cup Final?!!

Tradesman like Wallaby performance, full of young faces. Koroibete. Kerevi. Krazy good! Great atmosphere. The French crowds have turned up.

Smith didnt play for long enough, he got 10 mins at the end. They should use him more, and some of the other new blood.

Talented player. Lots of flair, hence he doesn't play enough!

                        Halftime. The usual...

Team from the Southern Hemisphere throwin' the ball around wildly and makin' dumb mistakes

Team from the Northern Hemisphere playin' borin' and pragmatic rugby. Goin' up in 3's thanks to penalty goals.

What do the French say? The more things change, the more they stay the same? 😑

The Sydney Morning Herald has already posted the obit online :

                            THE DEATH OF AUSTRALIAN RUGBY

Much loved sport, the product exclusively of private schools, of men who wear leather patches on their tweed jackets, vote conservative... has died.

Killed like so many of our young men in WW1, on the fields of France. The body has been collected off the ground. Burnt. Cremated. The Ashes have been put in a Welsh toby jug and sent home on a specially commissioned RAAF Jet straight to the Gap at Watsons Bay where it will join all the others that couldn't handle it all. The Ashes spread on the dark and grey waters of the South Pacific Ocean.
