FWIW, our holiday in the UK will consist of a visit to Wrexham, just because, Man City-Chelsea at the Etihad on 21 May, and a Scottish Premiership match in Aberdeen on 24 May. We THOUGHT we had tix to Championship Sunday at Brentford on 28 May, but the supporter club allotments were messed up, and we don't have them. My daughter (this holiday is her grad present for getting her Masters of Athletic Training degree), has put out feelers on Twitter on where we should go to watch Man City in London that day. Oh yeah, we are going to do Ted Lasso silliness, too.

FC Cincinnati has had a good run lately. They remain undefeated at home and at the top of their conference after a MLS victory over this past weekend and another last night in the Open Cup which was their first victory ever over NYC FC. Racing Louisville FC on the other hand is going the opposite way after their loss last Saturday they find themselves next to last in their conference with only a single goal keeping them out of last place. They are still fun to watch though and we are looking to go see a match in person at some point.

LONDON IS BLUE
Win the London Derby over Arsenal 2-0
Next week need to beat or draw with last placed Reading to win the League for the third time.
Last match before friendlies and World Cup.
In other news Australian Men, the Socceroos to replay Argentina in Beijing, China June 15th.
If not for this miracle save late, we could have gone to extra time against the Argies in the Round of 16 at Qatar 😪

The good run for our local teams continues with Racing Louisville joining the party by winning their last two matches to move them up to the middle of the NWSL standings. They are finally getting some goals and their defense has improved so there's hope on the horizon for them.
But the real fun is happening with FC Cincinnati who remain at the top of MLS after starting the season 8-0-0 at home for the first time in MLS history! Add the two home victories in their ongoing US Cup tournament and they are 10-0 at home, which of course is great news for FCC fans who have been more than happy to make TQL Stadium rock-n-roll. But of course the season is long and playing in MLS and US Cup adds up to a lot of match time so here's hoping they can find the right balance to keep the victories coming.
FCC had a really fun goal to win their latest match when Luciano Acosta took the ball from the Columbus Crew goalkeeper and passed it to the center of the box where it was sent to the back of the net. Scroll on out to 4:25 or so in the match summary below to see it. Did I mention that Columbus Crew are our rival team and that prior to this match they were 5-1-4 when playing FCC? 🤣

GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS
Cat Macario will be joinin' Sam Kerr at Chelsea, to probably play a false 9 behind Sam. Leavin' Lyon.
Now the Bad. Total bummer
Now. USWNT still has Sophia Smith and Alex Morgan upfront. Morgan in particular is back to her goal scorin' best. Never write off the Yanks at a WC. ☹
Hope Kristie Mewis makes the US roster so Sam has her gf to kiss and cuddle between matches. A romantic dinner at the Opera House perhaps. Or will Vlatko say no fraternisin'???
