Thrill to watch Canadians, Brits and Aussies go at it in a festival of sport. In UK's second largest city with the best curry houses in the land. Spicy aromas and deep grunts will collide as younguns try to outdo eachother.

Popstar Cody Simpson has made the swim team for Oz. And upgraded from Miley Cyrus to Emma McKeon.
T20 cricket also to feature.

Ah, the "Also Ran" games where the less successful countries get to play without Russia, China and America spoiling things.

I live within walking distance of the new swimming centre (it's absolutely not in Birmingham !) that cost us an increase in council tax, at least two local swimming baths and a public park.

All the more galling as there's been at least one (University of Birmingham), possibly two new swimming developments in the last decade that with only a small tweak would have been suitable.

Not overwhelmingly impressed.

I live not that far from the stadium, the security is already in place. I cycled past the venue on the canal and it does look nice. I think that route will be blocked that week.

Road closures are in place and it will be pretty hard to get to the city centre .

The athletes village was never finished on time, so the athletes are being bussed in from the university of Birmingham and Warwick university.

I am going to cycle up to Sutton park area and see if I can watch the cycling part of the triathlon from the roadside.

Watching the coverage of the opening ceremony I'm struggling to maintain my cynicism about our idiot neighbours down the road.

Even if they've resorted to claiming some of our best and brightest...

Lovely to see Denise Lewis , Birchfield Harrier, with the torch. Great speech by Prince Charles. Good to see Duran Duran, and went outside to see fireworks as they were finishing.

Plus the mechanical bull was amazing.

Great to see the Triathlon, men and woman's cycling part of the triathlon.

This was free to view, that’s the great thing about cycling ,no entrance fee for road racing.

Went on my bike and had a great day out.

The new Albanese Government has a Minister for the Republic so give it 4 years and after a successful referendum you may not be
bothered anymore by us. You can dominate Wales and The Isle of Man.

The Flyin' Rose Madi de Rosaria in the wheelchair marathon. The smile says it all

King Kyle. He's pumped. Angry. Cody Simpson stole his girl Emma McKeon, who just won 10 comm golds. Get outta the way. An angry Eagle-chest in speedos!!!





The Pearls, womens 7's overcame the Kiwis and Portia Woodman's flyin' hair. Revenge against the Fijiana to come. Or Canada.







Shayna Jack. Gold in relay after multiple setbacks. Great to see.

Mum wins womens marathon.

Sorry to see Johnboy blow a wheel in mens wheelchair. Battled bravely on.

Blind swimmer won 50 free breakin' world record. Didn.t know it till told by poolside interviewer.

I hope the commonwealth stays strong, i wasn't keen on Brexit happening and I certainly don't want another Scottish referendum, the future is pretty bleak for the UK in terms of unity and leadership.
