Football! Footie! Fußball! Fútbol! And of course Soccer!
We knew a big change in the MLS TV deal was coming and the details are finally out. FC Cincinnati matches that used to be available over-the-air or via streaming from the FCC website will now be exclusively available on AppleTV+ for $15/month (and that's just for MLS Season Pass). Needless to say we are very unhappy about this change for several reasons - free vs. monthly charge for a bunch of extra stuff that we could care less about is top but right behind that is I don't do business with Apple.
Apparently matches will be available over the radio with the old play-by-play announcer, which is fine for baseball but soccer not so much so that's not going to help. We've been tuning in since FCC first started in minor league many years ago so it's sad to see this change. There is a women's team in Louisville that we will be able to get via our existing services (at least I hope that's not changing) so I guess we'll move on to them for our soccer fix.
Bye bye FC Cincinnati. We'll still be rooting for you but you lost our eyes watching your matches (and commercials) for at least the next 10 years...
Well, first off, the quality of play in MLS is nowhere near a $15/month charge. It may fall flat on its face (Apple MLS Pass) when you consider that Peacock and ESPN+ are under $10/month and have an insane number of matches on. ESPN+ gives us Bundesliga, La Liga and all of the FA Cup games, including Wrexham, LOOOOOL. Many times with top announcers. We're watching Barcelona and Seville as I type this.

Effortless Cool. On this day of all days. Muted celebrations as she put 4 past good mate and fellow Matilda, McKenzie Arnold. They will be sharin' a plane home soon to play in the International window against Spain, Jamaica and Czech Republic.
FC Cincinnati starts their MLS season soon and today they announced a new kit which looks pretty cool. The front has a river theme and there's a patch that has our Roebling Suspension Bridge on it which of course was built by the same guy who built the Brooklyn Bridge (ours came first). Kinda fun...
