My club, Leicester City, are away at Aston Villa on Sunday (KO 4.30).
I've been a season ticket holder at the Foxes since 2013/14 season, but went to as many games before that as I could. Our last home game, against Watford last Sunday, was played in a blizzard!Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been. -

Hi guys. Remember playing footy on thick frost in Canberra as a kid. Could hardly hold the ball. Another time the ground was a sheep paddock coated in sh*t in Yass.
So Ash, how was it to see the foxes+Vardy win the PL from 400-1? Didn't they make a movie? Just started Ted Lasso last night. Funny. Though am with the wife. He would get on your nerves.
Anyhoo, as K-shmitty knows am more WoSo than the men's game. A West Ham fan as a kid with Paddy Batch and Billy Bonds and Trevor Brooking. But since the rise of Sam Kerr and the Matildas, watch all woso games. Matildas are now polled as our most loved national team. The cricketers are mostly scoundrels. Have seen 2 internationals Live and the local A-league side plays nearby in a beautiful boutique suburban oval near us.
Saw the USWNT recently and amazing to see the speed and power of them in the flesh. Looking forward to Sam's Chelsea winning Sunday's FA cup at Wembley. 40,000 tix have been sold. Hope weather is good.

My Club - 1. FC Köln - has seen better days, but long ago. Turned into kind of an elevator-club between league 1 and 2. If I watch some english footie I have some sympathy for Liverpool but now a little more for Chelsea because I am a kind of fan of Thomas Tuchel since some time.
And one of these days I have a question for you. Has only five letters. Starts with a K and ends with an R.Comment

That title-winning season was incredible! I went to a lot of away games as well, so I could see and feel how it was building to something special. For the street parade a week or so later I think almost the whole city was out lining the streets and in Victoria Park. 300,000 of us!
I got the same immense feeling last May when we won the FA Cup for the first time, in our fifth final. I was bawling like a kid at the end, such a release! The last time we reached the final in 1969 I was 10 years old, and it was the first football I'd seen on a colour TV. My father was secretary of the cricket club, and they had a colour TV in the bar and he took me to watch the match. We lost 1 - 0 to Manchester City, to a goal by Neil Young.... I cried then as well, but I was a Fox from that day on! Went to my first game in 1973.
We are so lucky to have such great owners; they've invested so much in the city. The tragic, horrific helicopter crash in 2018 brought home how much they meant. I'd only been home from that day's game for half an hour when a friend texted me to say there were reports of a helicopter crashing at the stadium. I only lived half a mile away then! Couldn't believe it, didn't want to.

Loving the FA Cup game with Buxton vs Morecambe on BBC1.
The pitch is on a slope, it's pissing down, there's no shelter and so much water on the camera lenses it's like watching underwater.
The commentary staff are now trying to do the half time analysis under umbrellas in a gale !

LONDON IS BLUE
and Emma Hayes is purring (after Arsenal coach said he was afraid of black cats). In front of 40,000 Londoners at Wembley stadium, Chelsea just won the FA Cup womens thanks to a goal by Fran Kirby and 2 worldies by Slammin'Sammy Kerr. Esp the 2nd, A chipped lob running at full pace. My POTM, the wee Scottie Erin Cuthbert, a heart of a lioness.
Great effort by Sam to travel 20,000 miles in a week, to play 2 friendlies against the States, to have a death in the family, to have a bout of gastro and still win the official POTM.

I love the picture and video GG! Sam is a beast...
As you said above GG we are also big fans of women's soccer mostly our US national team because it's really fun rooting for a winner. We're both from Cincinnati which has a long tradition of mostly losing professional sports teams so it's fun to have our USWNT to root for. On the other hand we also enjoy watching our local men's MLS team FC Cincinnati. We really had a good time watching them before they got into MLS because they were generally really good, but ever since they have moved to MLS frankly they are horrible and hard to watch (dead last in MLS this season). I know there were some FC Cincinnati fans on old YesFans not sure if they made it over here. There is hope for FCC. They have a beautiful new soccer specific stadium and a rabid fan base so hopefully they put the right pieces in place soon and get some freaking goals before they burn everyone out.
On another subject what does everyone here think about the proposed changes to FIFA's World Cup to move it to every two years? I hate the idea and hope FIFA is not stupid enough to ruin it.Comment

That FIFA idea is insane. Will dilute the appeal of WC which should stay like the Olympics. Every 4 years. Each continent has a major tournament in the interim year. The Euros, the Asian Cup, the African Cup, etc .
Sadly Jill Ellis is right behind it.
Don't give up on your Cincy's. Sport is cyclical and as your countryman Ted Lasso says "believe!"

I used to be a big Cincinnati Reds baseball fan, but then it was hard not to be back in the 1970s during the times of the Big Red Machine. They haven't been good for many years and for me watching baseball is just plain boring. The last fun baseball game I saw was in Japan when we were there (and it was really was fun).
I gave up on the Bengals back in 2015 when they lost the last playoff game they were in to the Steelers in a classically horrific Bengal way. As long as the Brown family owns and runs that team they are doomed to failure.
FCC is still fun to watch but they need to show some progress next year. If they get rolling things will get exciting and as you can see above we're looking for some of that!
But it just so happens that our University of Cincinnati Bearcats are in the College Football Playoffs, and of course everyone is totally into that. They have gone two seasons in a row undefeated which is a pretty big deal. Two more games and they are going to be super tough.
