Maybe but cricket is a funny game. Just ask Ben Stokes. If the Poms can set 150 innings lead , the Aussies have been known to bottle a small run chase.

      This ain't over yet!

CRICKET TECHNOLOGY : Let me get this straight. No snicko available. No 3rd umpire checking every ball for a noball. due to tech issues.

TENNIS TECHNOLOGY : You know it is the 21st Century, don't you?

      SAVE THE BOGONG MOTH
Its never over until the fat lady sings and in cricket the most amazing escapes can happen. To beat the Aussies on their oven turf is always tricky, and we would need a really good side to win and bowlers who can take 20 wickets in a game - and I am not convinced on either front

India won last year at the Gabbatoir by batting patiently and bowling accurately. Can be done. Those Indian batsmen showed old fashioned respect for their wickets. The English bowlers seem to be carrying niggles.
Root and Malan look calm and still. So they need to go on and get big scores. Would be first ton for Rooty-tooty down here ever

        DAY 4 to begin soon.

Telly. The radio in the car is on the blink, so if I go out and about, catch up when I return.

When the Melbourne test is on will be visiting my sister in Canberra and listening to her car radio on our way to visit my other sister. Never miss a ball. Even around the pool the telly is just audible, from inside.

            Another sunny day in Brissie.
Beefy is smiling again. Punter happy Hobart has the 5th test, not Perth. 10 minutes before the first ball.

This would be a good time for Root to make one of his double hundreds....

Why can't the world's best batsman score a century in Australia? That was a soft feather to the keeper.

Lyon gets his 400th wicket with Malan.

Green's second wicket only. Had to be Root.

Pope gone. Trying to cut a bouncy Lyon.

                All up to you Stokesy!

                  No snicko
No no ball monitoring by 3rd umpire
No live feed from overseas broadcast now

                  Nothing

Nope. The Gabba spectators' bums will be on the sands of the Gold Coast and Surfers'Paradise in 19 runs time.
Damn. Wish Rooty had set us a good target. Cricket goes to 5 days? Unheard of. Nope. 4 1/2 days. Not even that.

Had a nap, to find the cameras are fixed. Read at one stage that had set up 1 camera on the cover fence. Would've looked like a day at the village green.

Disgraceful. And people actually pay for some of this coverage overseas.

Man of the Match: Travis Head.

Advice for England: Pick Broad and Anderson.

See you in Rad-elaide for pink ball fun!

                        Oh my giddy aunt!
As it's a day/night jobbie, play in the 2nd Test in Adelaide doesn't begin till 3.00am GMT! I'll be catching the final session each day.....

Welcome to my world. All our best soccer players play in Europe. 3 of the 4 tennis majors are during the night. Golf as well. Olympics usually. Except Japan was timezone friendly.

                          TEST 2 DAY 1

Adelaide looks a picture. Be interesting who England select. Anderson? Broad?

The last sessions are the best. Pink ball under lights. Dew descending. Ball swings sideways. Pure mayhem.

                              REASON TO BE CHEERFUL:

If you're English. Reports are that Pat Cummins is close contact with covid case. At restaurant in Adelaide. May miss test. Repeat. May miss test.

Yep. He gone. Mike Neser to replace him.

                                TEST 2 DAY 1

English bowlers look familiar. Warner is 0 from 18 balls. Harris lucky to be still there after lbw review. Broad's angle makes it hard to get left handers out lbw.

Thanks to someone waiting for a test result who thought it would be good to go to a steakhouse for dinner and shake the Aussie skipper's hand. Astonishing. Pat has taken it in stride. So Sandpaper Smith is captain again .

Harris out, caught down the leg. Great catch. By Butler. Aussies unable to score. Pressure immense.
                                Labbers in.

Broad has burned 2 reviews. Already.
