I've been out for a walk this afternoon, partly to listen to an Ancient History podcast about Medusa and Natalie Haynes' retelling of the myth in her latest novel Stone Blind, but also to look out for signs of spring. The photos were all taken at the University of Leicester Botanic Gardens.

Beautiful! Looks like you're a little further along than we are. The weather has been very mild here the past few days, and the tips of my daffodils are sticking up, but nothing's blooming yet. But realistically, we've still got half of February to go, and spring usually doesn't really start here in earnest until around April. In the meantime, I'm still out on the weekends hiking in the forest preserves in our county, so I can enjoy being in the woods without having to worry about ticks.

Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

It's been a rather mild Winter here too, but no buds blooming yet or anything.
I also love walking in the woods this time of the year, no hunters or ticks or little bugs that want to fly into my eyes or ears. Very peaceful yesterday on my walk, hope for more of that today!Jeff Tiberius Grey Wolf
