I saw him with Whitesnake many times in the years up to the Slide It In album, from 1978. The band were always hospitable to their fans, letting us backstage after most gigs. Bernie, and the whole band in fact, was always generous, patient and attentive. Lovely guy.

Terrible news to hear. His time in Whitesnake with Micky Moody far surpassed any other lineup that band has had.. Loved his other work as well with Paice Ashton Lord and his Moody Marsden projects were all top notch.
