    Christine McVie, singer, songwriter, 79

    Sad times. Farewell songbird.
The singer-songwriter, behind some of the group's biggest hits, dies after an illness, her family says.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Just saw this. Very sad indeed. Times are moving along. It waits for no one.

Comes as a complete shock. Not only did she have a beautiful soothing voice and was a good keyboardist, but she wrote some pearls of songs in the Fleetwood Mac catalogue.

          Rest in peace.

Good words Arno. Very true. I loved her voice and her songs.

Probably the most underrated force in Fleetwood Mac.

Well said. It was very sad to see that she was gone. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham tended to get all the credit but she was the down to earth glue that fused it all together. Wonderful voice, wonderful songwriter.

Just saw that she was from the Lake District - very nice!

Never saw her or them live sadly but always enjoyed their albums and of course they got lots of radio time. RIP Christine you will be missed...

I'm shocked that she was 79. Wow.
