I wonder if Nesmith provided any inspiration for David Tennant’s 10th Doctor look. The suits are awfully close plus the sideburns.

Quite the career. I remember him for making some of the very first music videos. A man a head if his times, in many ways.

I can't believe the American public, through P.B.S. who stole and used some of his intellectual rights from one of his companies, had to pay out almost forty-six million dollars in compensation, probably from public money.

Of course, most folks who've ever looked him up, know that has mom created White Out, and became quite wealthy, though she was very generous to charity, too.

The TV show was one of my favorites when I was little, but I never delved into the catalog beyond the obligatory greatest hits CD until just a few years ago. So many good songs. RIP to Nesmith.

Mike was really a pioneer in several artforms as well as such a talented - and underrated - singer, songwriter, musician. Even as he was smart enough to play the game, he also went his own way, could only be who he was.

This is one of my favorites from The Monkees era, I love the way they imagined it. Mike had such a great range, he could sing in different styles with ease.

He wrote this hit song for Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Poneys:
