    Trump Indicted

For the first time in history, an American President has been indicted.... Certainly not the first to sleep with a floosy or play with cigars. I wonder what John F. Kennedy or Bill Clinton might say on the matter "hey, fugeddaboutit!.... " LOL

The charges are not publicly known at this time. Trump will likely be arraigned early next week, his defense attorney Joe Tacopina said.

I read somewhere that Yasser Arafat actually smoked the cigar in question.

Well, presidents having affairs (both known and unknown) I’m sure have been semi-plentiful throughout the years; however, this is the first verifiable time that a presidential candidate paid hush-money during a campaign to someone he (allegedly) slept with. That’s new - and illegal.

I wonder how many of those feigning outrage and surprise over this news are rummaging through their clothes to find their “But her emails…” and “Lock her up” t-shirts. 🙄

Only because Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon, so he got off without any criminal charges.

Hi. Ah! Not exactly. As a former practicing attorney I can tell you hush money payments are done all the time. Tiger Woods paid Rachel Uchitel anywhere from 5 to 10 million in hush money payments as well as numerous other women.

The DOJ and NY DA wouldnt touch it. Now Trump is running. At least none of this is political.

Hi. Well not exactly. The D.A. ran for office and was elected on a Get Trump platform. It's all political unfortunately. But there is an old saying and that is a super charged District Attorney can get a Grand Jury to indict a Ham Sandwich.

Braggs originally didn’t want anything thing to do with it. He was pressured into a political quandary, with strategic timing. Even Andrew Cuomo says this is politically motivated, a Trump hater.
I don’t think a picture of Trump with a bat next to Braggs helped any.😙

                    Yep.

                    Braggs inherited the investigation.

The DOJ didn't "touch" it because the Manhattan DA office was investigating it, so the DOJ didn't need to have a parallel investigation. Same with the the NYDA.

It's amusing that after a lifetime of shady dealings, it's an illegal hush money payment to a porn star that may actually bring 45 to some minor justice. Just like Al Capone, who was finally jailed over tax evasion. Or OJ Simpson, who was finally jailed for holding up two sports memorabilia dealers in a room at the Palace Station hotel and casino in Las Vegas before stealing from, and not for two murders.

However, even if Trump is found guilty on over 30 Felonies, I doubt that he'll see the inside of an actual prison for any longer than a day; his criminal record is actually legally clean. Of course, we all KNOW that he's a conman, a liar, and has caused misery, but because he's rich, he's managed to weasel out of any consequences until now. Even two impeachments couldn't take him down.

Don’t know if a little jail time would do Trump a little good, but the multiple counts is probably a misnomer and just a dramatic ploy, breaking down into small pieces the original charge. Kinda like fact checkers counting repeated times a President makes the same claim or point, to rack up the count, whether true or not.

Hi. Ah! Legal correction. Hush money payments are not illegal unless they are taken out of campaign funds and even if they were taken out of campaign funds a prosecutor must prove the defendant had knowledge they were paid out of campaign funds.

Again. Tiger Woods paid numerous women hush money. He was not prosecuted

So far, I’m impressed with how people are handling themselves in this thread, there are different folks who hold different perspectives on this.

And when did Tiger Woods run for President? I must have missed that somehow. 🤔
