    Seriously Whiskey Fungus?

    Seriously!

If you look around anywhere near a distillery or where spirits are being aged you will notice that there is black mold (mould) on everything nearby. We have a rather large Segram's distillery about an hour away (it's been in business since 1849!) and all of the houses and road signs around it are covered with this stuff. People have been complaining about it for decades and like the article above says of course the distillery business denies it is harmful and doesn't help with the cleanup. I'm happy to see some folks down in Tennessee that live by Jack Daniels are standing up and fighting back against this mess because if it truly does cause health issues then IMHO our distillery friends, and there are plenty of them in this part of the world, need to find a better way to make their product that doesn't cause problems for their neighbors.

    • as a young man I worked as a bakery assistant in Hobart. Helpin' the baker make dough and proof the dough in a steamy cabinet. The power of the sour yeasty smell still can fill my nostrils and mind. Made me quite light headed. Yeast combines with sugars to rise the cells of the gluten. Stretch them. Make lightweight bread. Passin' an early mornin' bakery is still one of my favourite sensory experiences. That and florists and leather goods shops. And cafes who also make bacon breakfasts.

    • Lately we are seein' stone bench cutters sue for damages after inhalin' silica dust over long periods. Silica is the second most common element in the earth's crust. After iron.

    • Also sadly in damp England, young children have died due to livin' in homes with black mould.

    • As a young man I also worked as a landscape gardener in Hobart. Sometimes in a suburb where the Cadbury chocolate factory was. The whole place smelt of sweet chocolate. Elevated my mood.

    • We also lived in an old house where the shower walls were painted. So. Instead of cleanin' the mould etc, we just painted over with white paint. Mrs Goodness and I were like 2 old Greek fishin' villagers, whitewashin' the cottage walls. Sad but true.

    • Bacteria. Is everywhere. Since covid. Definately never touch public door handles. Use public toilets.

    • Durin' the Black Summer bushfires we choked from the ash pollution. Gave me a headache and I never get headaches. Sydney had the world's worst air quality for a month.

    • As always business will turn a blind eye to any pollution as long as they make money. So up to citizens to lobby Government to regulate and provide safe workin' and livin' conditions. Hope your EPA still has teeth.

It is not a thing of the past. Oil companies in North Dakota are always spilling salt water around fracking operations and leaking oil and the taxpayers end up paying to decommission oil wells that are no longer in use.

And yet, there are those that still cling to the notion that mankind has no effect of the environment . . .

          Like this little gem . . .

The passenger pigeon (carrier pigeon) went extinct in 1914.

And whether it can, and should, be brought back to life a century after it disappeared.

Picking on the oil business because it is fashionable with the Left.

Every city and town in America has abandoned buildings, warehouses and manufacturing facilities that at one time were profitable businesses. But then the town demographics changed or the business went bad. The buildings were abandoned and sit and decay. The previous owners walked as they could not make a profit and with that the property tax revenue disappears.

Now, these old facilities become an environmental hazard as well as an eyesore. Who pays to tear them down? The city or the taxpayers in higher taxes. Many of these buildings are never torn down. They sit abandoned for decades polluting the environment

But you completely overlook this as it is not fashionable.. No, we will go after the oil business as the media propaganda has gotten to you.

But do you ever see the liberal media talk about the tens of thousands of rotting and decaying buildings in America? No!

Why? Because the Billy boy Clinton sold out America to the Chinese with NAFTA and other bad trade agreements forcing thiusands of manufacturing facilities ro close.

But sorry back ro the oil bashing that is still creating jobs for Americans unlike alot of manufacturing that has disappeared that made America great

False equivalency of abandoned buildings with the pollution of oil wells and fracking is idiotic. But you know how that darned Left is. They're trying to take over, control us. We must eliminate the anti-woke mob. Everybody has the right to bear arms and civil war is a part of our history.

No it is not a false equivalency. Abandoned oil wells are capped and paid for by the government or taxpayers. Abandoned manufacturing facilities and warehouses are torn down and paid for by the government or taxpayers.

                Both are environment hazards.

Are you off your medication cjreyes?

I simply made a point to Hammerhead that taxpayers pay for alot of a abandoned facilities that are environment hazards; not just oil wells.

I see you must respond to anything I post no matter how logical it is. And as usual you change the subject.

I really don't respond to everything that this peters guy posts. The guy is obviously a wingnut. The things I didn't mention about what he posted above was that he first used diversion against the other poster and then confronted him for ignoring the 'related' aspect he was diverting to. He then has the gall to accuse me of changing the subject.

Right now, sir alex, u are the subject. Some of us have fun watching the shit you post, once in a while. Many of us are tired of you. Some will even go so far as to engage with you...oh lord....tell me why... Ahhhh, what the hell. As you were.

That's an interesting point. How was America sold out to the Chinese by the North American Free Trade Agreement?

As someone that comes from the construction industry, I find this interesting. How is the environmental impact of an abandoned warehouse equivalent to capped oil wells/fracking?

You always seem to resort to insults when people disagree with you. Talk about a one-trick pony.

Not exactly. He called the argument of the false equivalency of abandoned buildings with the pollution of oil wells and fracking idiotic, which, while perhaps confrontational, wasn't a personal attack. Then you insulted him personally, and he responded in kind. It's a pretty important nuance.

No. He went into Woke this and that and civil war and other non topic stuff. Of course you would not know he sent me a PM a week or so ago inferring I needed to see a psychiatrist. I respond to insults. I generally don't initiate them.
