    Women in their prime...?

Good ole' Don Lemon declared that :

" A woman is considered to be in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s,"

Apparently it's ok to be sexist when it fits your narrative.... LOL! What a jerk. https://www.tmz.com/2023/02/16/don-l...ial-candidate/

Not only sexist but ageist. Give me a woman who knows who she is, can stand her ground and is authentic and transparent, I’m not talking about Nikki Haley btw (or politics at all). Wisdom is not age dependent. Lemon is a tool working for a failing network.

Certainly that applies to Dawn Lemon herself.

Yeah, politics aside, what a stupid thing to say. My mom got her first job at 50, went on to be a VP at a bank. Now 85, on the board of a local art association and involved in all sorts of events, benefits, and fund raisers. Like for Donny to have a sit down with Mima.

Someone way past her prime, who is slowly getting fired and demoted, and now has also not only alienated much of her fan base, but her cohosts as well.

My mother's mother lived to see her 100th birthday. Her wisdom and inspiration was overwhelming, pretty much right to the end. She really imparted a lot of hope, even to her great grandchildren.
I think Lemonhead just feels that saying weird stuff is a way to stay relevant in his prime.

So you’re calling Don Lemon a woman? Surely there must be more objective ways of criticizing him, especially if he’s being accused of a pattern of sexist behavior.

                    Aw, c'mon guys.

Lemon is simply regurgitating an older and outdated narrative about "women in their prime". We all say stupid outdated things once in a while.

Granted, Lemon is on national television, and ought to self-moderate what he says.

Still, on the Sexist Meter, this is a somewhat minor infraction when compared to some of the astonishingly insensitive remarks I've heard some Republican politicians say over that last decade. Let's start with Donald Trump:

Remember that Access Hollywood interview? "I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her . . . You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy.

In a series of Tweets, Trump referred to Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski as "low I.Q. Crazy Mika" and claimed she visited Mar-a-Lago while "bleeding badly from a face-lift."

Or that 1991 Esquire interview: "You know, it doesn't really matter what they write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass."

In a Howard Stern interview he made this observation: "A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10."

He called former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly a "bimbo."

In a NY Times interview he managed to be both sexist AND ageist when he implied that unbelievably beautiful supermodel Heidi Klum was "no longer a 10" simply because she'd dared to age.

There are plenty of others, so I think that if you're going to pile on Don Lemon for one remark, I'd like to hear y'all pile on Trump for being a hundred times worse. But y'all never did. And now you're all being so "woke" over Lemon's remark. I smell hypocrisy in the air.

So here's one more sexist remark from the former President: “There was a great softness to Ivana, and she still has that softness, but during this period of time, she became an executive, not a wife... You know, I don’t want to sound too much like a chauvinist, but when I come home and dinner’s not ready, I’ll go through the roof, OK?”

luvyesmusic mocking Don Lemon for blurting out a sexist remark by feminizing him is an egregious act of sexism. Luvyesmusic is using "being female" as an insult.

I think this kind of thing has moved from fad to trend, in certain circles.

I feel like I should stay out of this one, but I will say that for most women, it's like we're invisible after the age of, say 45. Probably younger. The centuries-old institutional viewpoint is that women's primary identity and efficacy is as decorative objects. So this kind of remark is just yet another example of same bullshit, different day. It's disheartening, but I will admit that I am more afraid of the men who are not afraid to say, in the year of our doom 2023, that women are property and our bodily autonomy is meaningless.

Years ago I tried to make a similar point in this community regarding the use of a certain phrase and it didn't register then either.

On reflection I am going to give Lemon half a pass on this. What Lemon said is politically incorrect. But in reality what he said is true. It is also true that men are in their prime in their 20's, 30,s and 40's. That is a fact. Medical people will confirm that.

Now, Lemon is a jerk. How he has any TV job is beyond me. He probably is being protected by a Senior executive at CNN for unknown reasons. And if a conservative said the same thing Lemon would go off on them. He is a hypocrite

Quite frankly I have had enough of this sick sick culture of political correctness where everything people say is scrutinized. People are human. People make mistakes.

And I am tired of some pivoting always to Trump. Trump is gone. We have a demented feeble old moron in the Oval Office now. This is the present time. The past is the past

The larger point is that Lemon-head went desperately grasping to make a political point. A weird ignorant one.

Fun fact! Our good friends had a big party about 25 years ago at their farm house in a big field. The party was called...

                              Pasture Prime

They even made shirts and they had a stage made out of the floor frame from a mobile home.

And Don Lemon is an idiot.
