The Planets are Alignin'

Didn't seem to take that long. For some it felt like a millenium.

I did a little stargazing/planetgazing last night. It was about -10 C so I didn't stay out too long.

I understand. Planets move slower when it’s cold. In the northern hemisphere, obviously.

ALL EYES TO THE NORTH WEST


Yep. The Big 5 are alignin' this evenin'. Bit before sundown.

Mercury. Venus. Mars. Jupiter. Uranus.

With added Plaeides. The Seven Sisters.

Need binoculars or telescope. I have neither. Only a pair of magnification glasses from the chemist to read with.

Won't be good enough. Oh well.

We took a trip out in the country at 3:30 AM in the last week of June to see the planets but it was partly cloudy so we didn't get a good view and the sky is already starting to get brighter at our latitude near the summer solstice.

So got up after a fitful night peerin' out of the bedroom window. 2am. 4am. Then 5.45am.

Got up. But dang nabbit, only got 2. A very bright Venus and possibly Jupiter. Didn't have Mars' red glow. Also down in Southern hemisphere the alignment was at a steep angle. Never seen Venus so bright. And I am an early riser.

So will set alarm for 5am so hope to catch all 4.

YES are soon to be on tour. DBA set to release an album with the title Celestial Songs. Australia set to have a new centre-left government led by Anthony Albanese.


Well, not quite. The planets are alignin' for real. Literally. Tommorrow mornin' before dawn have a look.

MARS. JUPITER. VENUS. SATURN. IN A ROW.

And in June we'll get all visible to the naked eye planets alignin'. All 5 of them. A coincidence or a sign from the heavens? A cosmic harbinger?
