Getting an email late on this evening offering me a job has made me smile just now, and cry with relief. I had an interview and admin test yesterday afternoon (Wednesday), and hadn't expected to hear the outcome till after the Easter weekend. It's expected I will start in May. I'm in bits right now.
To all of you who have offered me encouragement and good wishes, and especially at those times when I was sunk in near-despair, thank you, thank you, thank you my brothers and sisters.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Wonderful news Ash. You did it by resilience and black humour when needed. Spoil yourself with some culinary masterpiece! 😊

Thanks Chris. It's admin assistant in the Psychology department at the Uni of Leicester. I'll be working in the George Davies Medical Sciences Building. It's a full-time, permanent position. No specific start date yet. Uni staff are now on holiday for Easter till next Wednesday anyway.
Couldn't get to sleep last night till sometime after 3.00.

                Yippee hehehhehehehe

because for some reason noone went to work today and lo and behold my NationalRugbyLeague team, the Canterbury Bulldogs are live on telly at 3pm in the arvo. Big brutes in blue and white agin the perfidious South Sydney Rabbitohs owned by Rusty Crowe.

                Does it get any better?

Got a rich Argentinian malbec and my son and heir has made tacos!

                Bring it on!

The other day I had the chorus of "For You, For Me" from Jon Anderson's Song of Seven album going thru my head. Then I sorta adopted a parody interpretation by adding a 'u' and pretending he's singing about hallucination: "Four you! Four me!"

My mum used to say "small things amuse small minds",
but gosh-darnitt, whenever I sing Heat of the Moment (more than you'd think), I sing "Now we find ourselves in '22. The covid hotspots hold no charms for you".

Seeing so many friendly faces old and new this past weekend, and getting to partake in the communal experience of Live Music.

This did, popping up on my Facebook feed this morning. I've been a fan for two or three years, following them on YouTube. A group I'd love to see live in a club or at a cafe-bar or something. It's a style of music that makes me go all tingly and floppy inside, and I'm madly in love with Isobel Cope... That voice!
