A Ukranian family of seven being accommodated in a hotel near Dudley have just been on TV saying they wish they'd stayed in Kharkiv despite it being heavily bombed.

Some of us have to fucking live here permanently Matey !

Dudley - (unfavourably) twinned with Kharkiv...

The Guardian's comment section NEVER let's me down. World class humour, sarcasm, rudeness, mockery, satire. Bizareness.

Well. Imagine what happened after they all read that His Bononess is releasin' a memoir in November? 40 chapters with 40 song titles. As one wag said, surely the first chapter will be "One".

Will it be downloaded to all our e-books without permission?

84 solid gold comments. Ranks up there with the Randy Andy article comments. That good.

Pour a brandy and relax into 84 diamond sharp critiques of the tax avoidin' Messiah.

Is it really gone? THAT would make me smile and breathe a sigh of relief. Too many other places for that [email protected], don't need it here.

Sorry to hear this Luna. You are one of the bright lights here. If you need to talk to John the owner. You should. He responds straightaway. Hope this is somethin' that can blow over. Stick around 😊

I was beginning to feel like this wasn't a safe place for me to be, and that made me very sad. But then something happened today and I feel somewhat better. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

My genealogical lovin' sister has organized me to take another DNA test for Irish ancestry and assorted other places. Portugal. Smidge of Middle East. Got the kit so whatsapped her. Sent her the activation code for her to start the process on their website. Saw the number. Sent the number. She smelt a rat. Asked if there was another number. Sure enough. I had given her the number on the stabilisin' fluid tube. Not the spit tube. Doh!

There's a reason she's a doctor and I spent my workin' life gluin' bits of wood together. So all is good. Gonna send it back to the Mother country. She'll get the results and continue her tireless search for more relatives.

Made me smile. (And inwardly grimace)
