  • What made you smile today?

One of my old YES fans.com topics/threads started up, again, here.

I Had David Paton respond back to one of posts on his YouYube channel. David is one of my favorite musicians and singers. Pilot, Alan Parson's Project, and performing with Rick Wakeman, and Elton John, to name a few.

"Thank you. Your words make me feel happy. Creating music has always been my passion.'

Not today, but Friday nite, talked with a little boy in Applebee’s, 9, for over an hour, my wife and I were amazed at how wonderful he was.

With all the crap going on in the world, it was ray of light and hope for a world that the rest of us have screwed up royally. For an hour I didn’t care about health, or politics, or my cable out, etc, and got to see pure happiness and excitement about all things new in this little guys eyes. Nba was on over the bar, he saw a Steph curry ad, his favorite, he lit up, and told me he couldn’t wait to Sunday to see him on tv with dad.

And cheers to his father who was there for wonderful parenting. When leaving, he comes around, and gives me a hug, and says “bye Greg, was nice talking to you”. Made my night and weekend.

Man, I wish I could tell you…but it could be a spoiler for those Mrs. Maisel fans who haven’t watched the two most recently-released episodes.
Amen.

            Aha!
I came across Mrs Maisel on Prime Video a few weeks, and the premise appealed to. Ive not actually started to watch it as yet, but it's on my watchlist.
So, you'd recommend it to an old differ like me?
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

              1. You’re not old. 😎

              2. I think the show is an absolute scream. You might like it. In many ways, however, it’s very much of a New York inside joke. The entire Catskills “Borscht Belt” summer hotel/holiday camp scenes are spot on. My brother was a baker for one of them (The Concord) for a few years back in the 60s, before a whole lot of awful things happened. I stayed at one back in 1977; it was named The Homowack, and the food was terrible! And such small portions! 😜

By the way, as a person I am a bizarre mix of two of the characters: Midge Maisel herself, and Susie Meyerson, her manager.

Wow. Sounds like a rough area and not very inclusive. Have they considered speaking with a re-branding expert?

Alas, they are no more. LOL. They went under years ago, along with the other big Borscht Belt resorts.

Seeing a live show, again, first time in a couple of years. No vaccine, no vaccine card, and no freaking mask.

This is also the first week without a mask at work that helps maybe 5% . Five freaking percent.

That nonchalant “I want my ******* dinner” look.

Drove to the beach today, and back. Very rare Sunday off, but daughter made a request, and we did a family day, which has been pretty rare the last couple of years.

Unbelievable temperatures for March. I swear it was around seventy-five degrees, at Virginia Beach.
When the wind started picking up, and blowing sand pretty hard, it was time to head home.

                            THE POWER OF THE DENTIST

Went into town with an aching tooth.
                            3pm dentist appointment.

Did I summon up the courage of "Bronco Henry"?
                            Hardly.

More like resigned and stoic like George Burbank.

                            Xray. Anaesthetic. Yank. All done.

Made me smile. After a couple of uncomfortable nights.

Though my smile (sans a few teeth is not insta-ready)
