I was actually unaware of this album until this discussion, so I appreciate this information. Lyle left music a decade ago to be a software manager out in California. I didn't know there was more music to be released, so this is fantastic.

His niece announced his death and apparently sings on this album. It was not disclosed at the time why he died, other than complications of "a long battle with a recurring illness", and I've not found any more info since. Have you heard anything about his illness?

I wish I had more information, but I have heard the same as you. Unless I missed it, his illness was not disclosed.

Eberhard is an EP of sorts: one 13-minute track. But it is magnificent.
