State of Independence
What is Brian Eno's favourite song?
According to Chris Martin, it is J+V's State of Independence which he played when he produced Viva La Vida. Donna Summer's version featured a choir including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Christopher Cross among others. Produced by Quincy Jones, it went to #1 in The Netherlands. Perhaps Jon's most influential work. Even Bono said it defines music. Said to also have inspired Quincy's "We are the World".
