    • the Kate Bush's Runnin' Up The Hill rythm to begin On the Run. A wink is as good as a nod 😉

    • the choppy Wings like guitar in Sister Shame. And McCartney like verse. Sister Shame. Brother Blame.

    • the Coldplayness of Look What You Do. The keenin' singin' over the plaintive piano. Sings in Martin's register. Yellow. I saw you across. Yellow.

    • again the vibe of Beyond the Stars mirrors Coldplay's Coloratura. Spooky. With an elegant piano/ orchestration Burt Bacharach would be proud of.

Now. Braide has talked of one song bein' inspired by Talk Talk. But know little of them. ( ? )

    • self referential but Keep On Moving reminds me of the vibe of Halcyon Hymns.

    • and the most delicious of all? Towards the end of Beyond the Stars, Geoff quotes Moraz at the end of Gates of Delirium.

But. Don't forget what he does at about 3.35.

After the build up. It is the payoff. OK. This just got fascinatin'. A cross melody of pure bliss.

Gilly, check out Talk Talk's last two albums, which are fantastic, seductive slow-grower albums. avoid their early stuff, which is synthpop nonsense.
Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are amazing though.

        NEW INTERVIEW WITH RAY SHASHO

Click image for larger version Name:	download.jpeg-97.jpg Views:	5 Size:	13.3 KB ID:	58267

        • Darker Side of Fame was based on Michael Hutchence. So another one after U2's Stuck In a Moment..

        • Braide is headin' back to LA for work

        • Interestin' dynamic as they discuss guns and Hey Kid. Shasho is American and has a vastly different cultural experience.

        • Heart Shaped Hole has a stadium like guitar passage

        • Dear Petra. Need a sense of peace.

        • Sister Shame. Chris is huge fan of XTC. Allowed him and Geoff to work with other people. Partridge. Kate Pierson. Paul McCartney next?

        • DBA6 is already written. One song is called "Naked Memories" or "Lake of Memories". Couldn't quite catch it. Long epic like Skyscraper Souls. Wow 😯

        • Chris likes new Stones' song Angry. Says it sounds like INXS.

        • Chris' son turns 18 tomorrow

        • Will duet with Marc Almond soon at a charity concert in London. Will sing Warm Summer Sun and Dark Side of Fame.

        • DBA hopefully to tour in 2024.

        • The Producers are gettin' back together. To tour in 2024. So Horn and Chris must have mended fences. Chris sang I'm Not in Love. Among others.

        • Spent a week producin' Posh Spice one lead vocal. Chris knew them all from the beginnin'.

        • Chris would like to see The Jam or XTC reunion concert.

        • Chris would have loved to have played with T Rex or the Plastic Ono Band. Interestin'. 🤔

        • DBA has done only 3 gigs.

And Colour of Spring makes three.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Thanks for sharing, a good wide ranging chat (more than an interview).

Regarding Chris mending fences with Trevor Horn I didn't know there was anything to mend. I thought it was just a case that Chris went LA to work.

Horn was miffed that Chris left The Producers.
Read it in an interview. Must have mellowed out.

Also. Relistened to the video. Chris says DBA6 will include a long epic called "Naked Memories".

2024 is shapin' up nicely 😃😘❤

Another nod to a great band in ON THE RUN:

This is not my first rodeo with these DBA boys. Towards the end. Chris has just sung the last verse. Geoff's keys slow and began a soft re-entry....until....BANG! Bainbridge begins a blisterin' guitar solo. Classic bait and switch DBA move.

And it occured to me that he's doin' a BIG COUNTRY inspired solo. That Celtic flavoured sound. Attack. Almost bagpipe soundin'. Highly satisfyin'. Similar to some of his louder work with Iona or Lifesigns.

What was the third gig, DBA did?

I know whatever year it was before the pandemic they scheduled their first show ( without a live guitarist ) for February 14th and management contacted me prior to making an official announcement, that they had added another show the following day.

Dunno. But. They didn't have a LIVE drummer for the filmed gig LIVE IN ENGLAND. At Tradin' Boundaries.

Don't know what their problem is? Hope they can nail down a full band for their UK tour in 24.

You are correct about the missing drummer. I knew it was one of the key pieces missing. Word was the drummer just exploded during a show. :-)

...........so Braide brings Ash Soan (fresh from the "Celestial Songs" sessions).....Horn brings Lol Creme (who toured with him on last summer's SEAL/Horn tour).
That only leaves Steve Lipson, the 5th producer who played on the "Made in Basing Street" album.....or maybe just throw Downes in there, and they can play DBA stuff in addition to all the material they have available from their respective catalogues (wishful thinking ?)

Your lips to god' ears 😍

Now Horn has a taste for performin' LIVE again and
Braide livin' back in the UK and Geoff justifiably proud of DBA it would make sense to strike while the iron is hot. But you never know with these prog chaps. They delight and confound in the next breath.
