  • Dave Bainbridge

Just enjoyed this video of Dave Bainbridge. Had read he was in Iona and Lifesigns, and of course I only know of some of his limited but impressive work with Downes Braide Association up until now . He is a huge reason I am looking forward to the next DBA album, Celestial Songs, along with everyone else involved.

Looked him up on Wikipedia after this video and really had zero idea of what an impressive and decorated musician Dave really is. Is there anymore love out there for Dave?

What a coincidence that you should post this! I came across this you tube two days ago and was telling my wife yesterday how great it was. Reminded me a little at the beginning of UK but then goes its own way. I have seen him live a number of times both with DBA and more recently with the excellent Lifesigns.

Got more time to respond. Love this stuff. Like DBA with a bit more quirky arrangement like YES with a UK vibe. He plays keyboards and guitar like a boss.
Big talent. Have heard the whole album Celestial Fire when he first played for DBA. Btw, the new DBA song Will to Power snippet on FB has a real gnarly, gritty guitar sound. Not always pretty and clean!!!

Wonderful to discover all these neo-proggers. Magenta. Pete Jones. Tiger Moth. Damanek. Big Big Train. Such a cool scene in England and Wales at the moment. No wonder Juano lives down there in the SW Corridor of Power with Steve and Curtis and Roger. All that Stonehenge Ley Line Energy!!!

Hey Rob! I first encountered Dave Bainbridge & Iona in the mid-90s, when "Journey Into the Morn" was the current album from the band. At the time I described Iona to friends as "kind of like Yes, but with Celtic instrumentation" :-) I had the pleasure of seeing Iona a couple times in 1997 - in McLean, VA and somewhere in southern NJ; then about 10 years later at Nearfest and the Sellersville Theatre in PA. I was sad to see Iona come to an end, but then thrilled that Dave got the call to support both Lifesigns and DBA! He's an amazing musician! He's also on Patreon (and quite actively engaged with his supporters): https://www.patreon.com/davebainbridge/

Managed to see that Lifesigns were playing in Truro, our nearest town, last night, but too late to go. Liked a couple of Iona albums, with Nick Beggs and Bainbridge, and liked what I listened to of Lifesigns first album. One to investigate.

I was standing in the front row for this gig just in front of Dave. It was also filmed for release as a DVD which I hope will see the light of day soon. Great night btw

                      Cool. Lovely momento then.

Diggin' Dave's mournful and yearnin' moments on Celestial Songs. Big Celtic Energy 🤔🔥🔥
