I really liked it at first when I got the video, but ultimately prefer the album song, there's something about that ascending scale at the end with the plaintive guitar and piano that I love (actually the song reminds me of a cute girl I went on a few dates with at the time before the bubble burst. 
)Agree that the rest of Quartet could happily have been left off the album. As it is, there's a brief pause before I'm Alive anyway so back in the day it was easy to make tapes for the car without the rest of the song.
