Thoughts on the overall show later.

Wow. Can't wait for the review. Jon's even delivering the goods with the flu? Dude is amazing...

      On to the review.

A great show. As I mentioned earlier, an amazing first half. .Just based on the song selections, the second half was not quite as good. A somewhat mysterious additional
guitarist was added to the band for AYAI and YM/ISAGP (might just be me, but I did miss the harmonica in this version of the latter). Definitely heard some mutterings around me of a preference
for Gates rather than Ritual but the band, particularly Richie, delivered a fine version. Roundabout really got the crowd going (and featured the now customary Jon/Janee dance
at the side of the stage). Not sure if the crowd thought OOALH too "contemporary", but the energy level did seem to drop for the concluding song (Richie played lead, Andy played bass)

Thoughts on Band Geeks, who they are and affiliations.

Richie Castellano (Blue Öyster Cult) - Bass, Guitar
Chris Clark (Brand X, John Entwistle) - Keyboards
Andy Ascolese (Kasim Sulton’s Utopia, Celebrating Meat Loaf) - Drums
Robert Kipp (Kashmir) - Keyboards, Guitar
      Andy Graziano - Guitar, Bass

Richie did a great job paying homage to the mighty Chris Squire. Andy A was solid on drums. Andy G, while no Steve Howe, was a main contributor to the power and
energy of the show. Good idea to have 2 keyboard players to basically represent Rick. IMO backing vocals were a significant upgrade.

Jon Anderson,,,pretty darn good,.,still! To my ears, he has lost very little vocal ability over the years, For me, the highlight of the night was CTTE. The standing ovation when Jon
hit the high note of the "I get up I get down" section was spontaneous and really well-deserved. One Jon Anderson indeed. He does seem to be really enjoying his
latest nights of Yes music, Don't miss this tour if you can get to a show.

      Regards,
      Edmund.

        Bonus alumni coverage.

Do not expect too many Yesfans members experienced live versions of OOALH from two different original writers of the song on back to back nights.

Following a 6 hour drive from Tyson Corner, VA back to Charlotte, it was out to the Seal concert for the wife and I, opening act Buggles (or perhaps the "New Buggles").
Despite the cancellation of the latest Yes tour, there was no surprise appearance from a certain Geoff Downes. My first impression was that these "new" Buggles were
pretty good (more on this later), The band took the stage accompanied by an instrumental VKTRS (guess the acronym!). Started with an absolute killer instrumental
version of Two Tribes (Frankie Goes To Hollywood). Two songs from the Age of Plastic album were followed by the Yes section of the set. Trevor introduced the
Buggles version of Into the Lens, I am a Camera (good cheer from the crowd for mention of the Drama album). He then introduced OOALH in a lower key than originally
recorded(!), telling us he was primarily responsible for the verses of the song. Final song was the full VKTRS. Perhaps in some extent due to his stellar reputation as
a producer and certainly being a major contributor to Seal's success, Trevor and the band got their own standing ovation.

Briefly on to Seal (setlist details below), Due to various reasons, this was the first time I saw Seal live and was certainly not disappointed, By an amazing stroke of luck, the show
itself was comprised solely of material from his first two albums - by far my favorites (2 encore songs were from Seal IV). Talking of singers who are maintaining their vocal
capabilities, Seal is certainly doing that, Great connection with his audience - he literally performed Killer standing on a chair at the opposite end of the row that we
were sitting in (got abandoned by the wife who rushed over to dance along closer to him). In his role as musical director, it was not a surprise to see Trevor on bass for
the show, but as I looked closer, the entire touring band had also been the New Buggles.

            Regards,
            Edmund,

I am almost sorry I didn’t go to see The New Buggles. For some reason I thought they were just performing in England. I am trying to avoid looking at too much temptation to see any shows except for the very few for awhile. Tangerine Dream advertised here the other day, first time since 92.

Whole bunch of bonus tunes with that group, with Trevor. I have to avoid Seal, he hasn’t forgiven me for sleeping with his then wife, Heidy.

This is by far the most interesting sentence in the thread. Is this a joke that went over my head, or did it really happen? If the latter, is there any way we can persuade you to tell us all the long form version of that story?
"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood
