    No More Politics?

What would it take for me to be banned from this site for being “too political?”

Most places now it depends who is "in charge", or how many p****** one would offend. Frankly, I'm offended, that so many people are offended. :-)

People are being/have been silenced, and arrested for "being on the wrong side". Freedom of Speech is a right, and is under attack here in the United States. The left bans people for so-called disinformation, but what truths are they actually spinning? Not many, to be honest but too many improperly informed and lied to people eat it up as the gospel truth. More folks are being dumbed down everyday, or worst don't care for various reasons.

Answer: Anything can get you banned, or as Twitter likes to say, permanently suspended. More unchecked lefties need to lose their jobs and go to prison. Stop buying into the bullshit, and grow a set. ;-)

Well, Twitter has changed with Musk in charge. He is now releasing the past Twitter files and the Left is going bonkers as their past censorship is being exposed. Twitter was a censorship machine pure and simple.

I agree with what you say. The problem going forward is we are in a US vs THEM mentality. A perfect example amongst many was a post I made stating the Democrat controlled cities are nothing but crime infested sewers. A Mr. Richard Bland who pops here once in awhile strictly to post his Left agenda replied showing that some of the worst crime was in Republican city states. He was being coy and deceptive in that he was attempting to say Republican states have the worst crime. His deception is even in Republican states the major cities are controlled by Democrats. A perfect example is Houston. This once modern beautiful city in a Republican state has been controlled by Democrats now for over 30 years. Houston today is in a republican state but is a 3rd world crime infested sewer with a rampant drug and sex trafficking trade.

In the past 40 or 50 years ago a Democrat would respond crime is a problem and we must address it. Mayor Daley or Mayor Rizzo , 2 Democrats, did not tolerate and pacify criminals

Today, you get a Mr. Bland type post. Deflection and failing to admit the obvious. The truth does not matter. It is US vs. THEM.

Crime, drugs, and sex trafficking are a nationwide problem, and are not just a "Republican state", or "Democrat city" problem. For instance, Miami is a Republican city in a Republican state, and Miami's ghettos and high crime areas are worse than Houston's.

And Dallas, also a Republican city in a Republican state is still above the average crime rate when put in perspective with the rest of the USA.

Oh, and "the Twitter Files"? What a load of rubbish. The “Twitter Files” that Elon Musk helped promote were supposed to be a smoking gun about Democratic election interference at Twitter. Instead it was a another massive flameout. Just another nothingburger. The second dump was even MORE nothing than the first, if that's even possible.

He's trying to make it out as a government censorship deal, but back in 2020, when this all went down, neither Joe Biden nor the Biden campaign were “the government.” It was a request from a private citizen running for public office, which is covered under the First Amendment. I mean, sure, that’s a noble aspiration to be all Free Speech and all. The problem is that Musk's behavior increasingly suggests either that he has no idea what that means, or, even worse, he does, and he’s just not being honest. That's right, Musk wrote “Twitter acting by itself to suppress free speech is not a 1st amendment violation, but acting under orders from the government to suppress free speech, with no judicial review, is.” But Twitter is a private company, and, just like an airline, or a bakery, can decide on its own rules. You cannot stand in the middle of a Starbuck's and rant loudly about a political issue, and using fake information in your rant doesn't even come into play.

You see, the free speech clause of the First Amendment, like almost every provision of the Constitution, applies only to “state action.” A private business no more violates the First Amendment by banning particular types of speech in its operations than I violate the First Amendment by not allowing particular types of speech in my home.

Musk is pretending to be demonstratively "pro-Free Speech", but I notice that he muzzled Kanye last week, LOL. Twitter Inc again suspended the account of Kanye West , just two months after it was reinstated, because Elon Musk said the rapper violated the platform's rules prohibiting incitement to violence.

In fact, Elon Musk is showing all us all why we should tax the hell out of billionaires. And what's with his infantile pronoun jokes about Fauci?

I think that Musk, with all his controversial Tweets and verbal bombshells, and constant thrusting of himself into the limelight, may be considering a run for President using the Trump "playbook".

Chant it: "Musk Musk Musk Musk Musk!".
The more you chant it, the more it sounds like you're chanting "Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow!".

The Miami mayor Suarez is a registered Republican that votes Democratic. He voted for Biden in 2020 and has never voted for DeSantis. You have these phonies out there. The Miami mayor is a far left Democrat

The mayor of Dallas is a Democrat and a defund the police advocate. As far as Fauci he has been shown to be a bureaucrat; nothing more. The previous Dallas Mayor was also a Democrat. Dallas and Miami are Democratic controlled cities.

Conservatives have been fleeing these cities in droves. In Portland Oregon an exodus of businesses and families is unprecedented

Twitter was not a private business under the Marxist Dorsey. It was publicly traded.

As far as K. West he placed a swastika inside the Star of David. That is not free speech. West is mentally ill.

Musk is doing a great job. No one owns him

Generally the owner here has done a good job. The site has grown since he took over. He is not a combatant type. He is a gentleman of the highest order. He does not ban people. At least I know of no one. He closes threads that become hot and heavy. I believe he pulls the plug on some threads too quickly but overall he is doing a good job IMO.

^Based on this thread anyway, the site seems to be self-policing. Any Socialist ideas from the Left seem to be shut down by the volunteer militia before they can take root.

Well I would not say SHUTDOWN. Counter arguments or points of contention is a better phrase. Conservatives or libertarians do not want to shutdown anyone.

It is the liberals who want to shutdown and censor points of view they disagree with

                      So even Republicans are Democrats?

The Republican mayor of Miami is a far left Democrat?

Did you know Suarez is a Republican and has pursued an avowedly conservative agenda: pro-business, pro-technology, lower taxes and reduced regulation, pro-police and tough on crime. If you think THAT's a "far left Democrat", what sort of an agenda must a Republican have to satisfy your definition of being a Republican?

He votes democratic. He is a republican in name only. He is a liberal. What he says and what he does is 2 different things. The mayor's office in Miami is nonpartisan. He is no Republican. Just in name only. The Mayor of Miami has the Bill Clinton skill of talking out of both sides of his mouth and getting away with it

If Saurez is a Republican and for lower taxes and all the rest why did he vote for Gillum over DeSantis in 2018. Gillum was a radical wanting to raise taxes and for all the other liberal agendas including tearing down monuments.

Gillum is also apparently a criminal in that he was indicted on 21 federal counts 5 months ago. Gillum is probably heading to prison. And just think DeSantis just beat Gillum by .04% in 2018.

I don’t think liberals have a monopoly on that. If that were true, “liberal” would be a genuine mental disorder.

Lol. I don't see conservatives censoring liberals.
