    NewYesFans versus YesFans

We may have lost a ton of history and some folks. BUT the new forum’s operational software and layout is to me so much better.

AND not having to wait 30 secs before search queries , which used to drive me crazy , is also a big plus.

Thanks John for setting this up.

Both places were/ are great to pop into and nerd away re: all things Yes.

NewJohn responds quickly to people's requests and suggestions. Which is reassuring. And layout is nice and clean. Feels more futuristic.

I'm just grateful we have somewhere to go and we knew it was coming.

I think I might have mentioned in a thread back on YF that there was a forum I frequented for over a decade, I really did consider the regulars there my online family. And then one day the owner (who was never a regular poster although we'd all had some interaction with him over the years) decided he didn't want to do it anymore and just let the site expire without telling anyone, not even the mods. It wasn't until nearly a year later that we found out he'd just ghosted us. I'm still mourning it, and that was years ago.

Thanks for saying that, but also to consider is that the old site was a bit better customized and grew harmonically, the new features are mainly due to the software updates

It's nice we're getting used to it...

On the old site I liked the colour scheme options - mine was greenish.

I particularly liked having a button that arranged threads in order of most recent posts.

The 30 second search limit drove me potty.

I miss the old site, I'm enjoying this one.

It's swings and, er, roundabouts !

I'm grateful we had the old site, and I'm grateful we have the new site. It's all good.

I agree. Both are/were good places to come. I know I'll get used to this site, and that it will soon become 'normal'.

I am loving the new home. For some reason I feel more encouraged to chat here. The layout just seems easier or something… I dunno. It’s waaay better on mobile.

I do wish the old site was still readable, but what can you do. Glad to be here, and it’s fun to see this place slowly lurch to life. Lots or great conversations are starting to happen, and it’s taking on a life of it’s own now.

VERY grateful for your new "reboot" of Yesfans.com here, John!

I was largely content as a lurker at the old site, just really enjoyed the fraternity online. Happy reading LOL.

I was so forlorn to see it gone - I'm just seriously relieved to have a message board format to share and indulge in the fan experience of bands like YES and /ASIA\ again. Thank you!

I miss Sean Connery’s old forum. I think it was called “yeshfans”.
