Discovered on an old cassette by the daughter of the deceased engineer. From the Gaucho sessions. Original recordin' was accidently erased. Fagen didn't pursue it. Let it drop although their manager wanted it to be the second single.

    SECOND ARRANGEMENT

    What do y'all think?

it's a fantastic track, but then the whole outtakes albums from Gaucho and others are brilliant. I'm glad i saw them when both the boys were still in the band

The Second Arrangement was accidentally wiped in the studio in 1979. Now a version found by the recording engineer’s family has the community ‘freaking out’

I’m not sure they ever get to your neck of the woods but if Nearly Dan ever play close to you I would urge you to go attend.

I love the song and it's really fun to see the reaction of the daughters when they hear it the first time! Thanks for sharing it GG.

Agreed. It was an embarrassment of riches with Don & Walt.

Hard to believe "Gaucho" got bad reviews when it was released. The title track is still one of my favorite songs ever.

It’s surprising that they didn’t think it was worth recreating, or that it wasn’t re-recorded for The Nightfly or something. Nice tune.

This is actually my favorite outtake from the lost Gaucho album. Talkin’ Bout My Home.

Overall improvement to the fidelity of the Gaucho outtake, Talkin' 'Bout My Home. Mix includes clearer vocals and a quieter bass and piano track.

And a really cool remade version:

Greetings fellow Dan fans !We are back with another rarity. This time we present to you one of, if not THE highest quality version of the unreleased Gaucho s...
