Last night at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney where YES played in 73. It's all over, folks, for the power and the passion.




PM Anthony Albanese was seen dad-dancin' with his partner in the VIP section. The Right Honourable Peter Garrett sang. He's a former Labor environmental minister from the PM Kevin Rudd days.

I once saw him eat dinner in Chinatown with some Wilderness Society people. He is about 7 foot tall. Bald. But he was mainly quiet, attentatively listenin'to the others. A humble man.

Only saw the Oils once, down in Tasmania. The most energetic performance I've ever seen. He went off like a firecracker. Great musos behind him too.

One of my favorite bands, saw them four times in the '90s. And one of the best live bands ever, on the WOMAD tour Peter Gabriel wisely went on before them. Their studio records are great, and the live albums are phenomenal.

There was never a treaty signed with the English, They considered this land Terra Nullius. That is, no one lives here.
Yothu Yindi's family and clan were instrumental in forcin' the High Court to overturn that law.
Land was given back to the original land owners. Now minin' companies have to deal with tribal councils to mine.
The Oils toured the Northern Territory and remote settlements first. Got Yothu Yindi to tour
with them to the States. Now the Albanese will conduct a referendum to enshrine in the constitution a Voice to Parliament for Aboriginal people.
