    Rain Song

Once you know that the opening chords of Led Zeppelin 's Rain Song were inspired by George Harrison's Something, you can't stop hearing it....

Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip itโ€™s been.

I mean, Pagey is a notorious...borrower. But I love that song anyway.

Yes, he did 'borrow' from lots of people, but this one was an open tribute. Harrison had said to him and John Paul Jones that Zeppelin's only weakness was that they never did any ballads, so Page wrote Rainsong in response, deliberately quoting the opening harmonies of Something. BTW the opening lyric line of Something was 'borrowed' by Harrison from an early James Taylor song, whom he had signed up to Apple Records. All's fair in rock and roll ... ๐Ÿ˜

I never thought about that - Rain Song and Something. Wow. Rain Song is definitely in my top 10 or even top 5 Zeppelin songs. Magic.

Okay - I didn't know the story behind that one.
