America the Beautiful. Soft and sultry. Not a dry eye in the house.

    National Anthem. Powerful.

Now let's get ready to rumble.

Got a chuckle out of this!

We definitely have plenty of canned Skyline in our lives, but the most fun comes when we cook it ourselves using one of these fun packets of goodness https://www.kroger.com/p/cincinnati-.../0007359103082. This also works great with venison when it's available.

    Just finished our goetta breakfast!

    SPAM

    "Scientifically Processed Animal Matter"

    Not kidding. According to Google.

Meat from the pig's shoulder only which is considered high class. Devised for the war, marines took it to the Phillipines, South Korea and elsewhere. With little refrigeration. It was the only way to keep meat fresh.

Spam is considered a delicacy in some Asian countries. It actually has a good reputation for nutrition. It's not the abbatoir floor sweepings most people think.

In isolation recently I ate some for the first time in 40 years. Snacked off it straight from the tin in the fridge.

Until. It began to congeal a grey coloured crust and then and only then did it look unappetizing.

Spam. Not as bad as you think.

I prefer spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam.

Fortunately Betsy is a spicy girl so it didn't take any convincing to get the job done right.
For me, it's the spices that make all the difference. There used to be a restaurant in this area that had the best scrapple ever but sadly shut down years ago. The guy that mixed my parents' scrapple died even longer ago. *sigh* I miss the good old days.

Of course the rest of the family gets their protein from Krogers, which is another Cincy company along with Procter & Gamble that y'all might have heard of, but we are lucky enough to get ours from https://www.theeatonfarm.com/ which is about 10 minutes from here.

Yes GG it's beef for breakfast!
