Cincinnati has a big fireworks display on Labor Day weekend on the Ohio River and of course this song is a staple at that event. Also love the Brian May contribution. Enjoy!

Betsy is totally Irish/German on her Cincinnati side. Her mom was from Cleveland so things are a bit more Eastern European on that side. Of course Bootsy is a wonderful example of our deep Black heritage. And Cincy is the home of Reformed Judaism so lots of history there too.

Snacks Cincy style here are Cincinnati Chili (for games we prefer making a cream cheese/chili/cheddar cheese dip but the options are endless), Grippos BBQ Potato Chips, and if we're really serious Graeters Ice Cream (mocha chip please).

That would be Black Raspberry Chip GG, and it is very good indeed (probably my second favorite Graeters flavor). Did I mention that some Graters ice cream flavors include chocolate chips (sometimes they are huge) and the chocolate they are made from is liquid at room temperature so they literally melt in your mouth as you eat them? Back in high school days I had friends that worked at Graeters and they would set aside super big chips and give them to their friends when we came in. 🤠

I forgot to mention one other Cincinnati food favorite, which is goetta. You can buy it in the stores around here but Betsy's family has been making their own for a long time. It's a German thing supposedly although no one from Germany seems to have ever heard of anything similar. Goetta is a mixture of pork, beef, pin head oats, and spices all ground up together. Pittsburghers have something similar they call scrapple but they replace the oats with cornmeal (I prefer oats thank you). It's generally a breakfast item and that's what we will be having Sunday morning before the big game.

Funny you should mention that because actually Betsy's family was an all pork outfit too until I entered the situation and convinced Betsy to try adding some beef which IMHO takes it to the next level. The rest of the older generation of her family add zero spices and just a bit of salt so it's super bland pork mush to me. Fortunately Betsy is a spicy girl so it didn't take any convincing to get the job done right.

Of course the rest of the family gets their protein from Krogers, which is another Cincy company along with Procter & Gamble that y'all might have heard of, but we are lucky enough to get ours from https://www.theeatonfarm.com/ which is about 10 minutes from here.

For me, it's the spices that make all the difference. There used to be a restaurant in this area that had the best scrapple ever but sadly shut down years ago. The guy that mixed my parents' scrapple died even longer ago. *sigh* I miss the good old days.
