    Jeff Beck Tribute Concert

Some rock n roll royalty honoring the late, great Jeff Beck.

It’s kinda criminal that Eddie Van Halen hasn’t been honored yet in this way. We’re coming up on three years since he passed. Hopefully the people in the VH camp get their shit together and honor his legacy.

This is why I think a tribute to EVH will never happen. Also, I get the impression that WVH views his performances at the Taylor Hawkins concerts as his tribute so he might not be down for anything more.

Yup, that’s pretty much what WVH has said. It’s really a shame because we know the fans want it and we have a long queue of famous musicians who are licking their chops to be a part of it. But 3 petty and egomaniacal guys are standing in the way.

So happy to see Johnny Mac there! Those two had quite the mutual admiration society going on.

I would say two - I wouldn't count Wolfie or Mike as either.

Well, Alex, David and you could count Sammy as the third one.

I’m not so sure. This is from the most recent interview with WVH regarding a tribute for Eddie:

"I don't know what it is with some bands but certain personalities just can't get over themselves to work collectively for one purpose. That's been the curse of VAN HALEN for its entire career. So my playing at the Taylor shows delivered that catharsis without the stresses of dealing with the VAN HALENcamp, and the players involved. Their camp is very dysfunctional — everyone! Hell, it was difficult to make plans even when the band was active. When Classic Rock's Dave Ling asked Wolfgang about Hagar's comment that he would "love to play those songs again," Wolfgang said: "He said that, but he also said he wouldn't. Sammy said two different things. No… I feel that I've said my piece, and if the Taylor concerts are all that happens then I'm happy with that."

              The full interview is here:

On May 17th 2023 we welcomed the mighty #WOLFGANGVANHALEN as a very special guest in our studios live @ LINEA ROCK (Radio Lombardia TV). Interview - this tim...

John McLaughlin saved this show. An example of someone who can still bring it at 81. Clapton, Ronnie Wood, Steve Howe, take some notes.

He is effing incredible at 81 and he still radiates a certain grandness and stature. He blew everyone else off the stage, with the exception of Derek Trucks.
