Hard to argue against just about any of those.

No Iron Maiden, again, in the ‘MUSIC hall of fame’. Damn it. Come on people…..😲😡😉. Next year. 🤞🙏

I wonder if George Michael or Missy Elliott ever cranked a Marshall up to 11. It’s called the Rock and Roll Hall of fame but it’s really just a Jann Wenner vanity project.

Haha! It’s just a silly pet peeve of mine. Tongue in cheek. And All the musicians prev inducted are definitely not my cup of tea/genres not in my personal wheelhouse/or I don’t see as rock and roll, so I always say the “music” hall of fame. It’s no biggee. My friends and I have good debates. Problem is we are on the same side. Lol. Doesn’t bother me either way. What does bother me is Maiden just can’t get in yet. 😉😁. Same as i feel about elp or crimson (have they gotten in, I don’t follow that close, only if it pops up).

Boston, ELP, Kansas and Crimson all need to be in there too.😉

              Absolutely!!👍👍

(and I don’t diss any of the inductees, here or through the years, diff people like what they like, that’s all, and it’s fun fodder).

I think that Rock and Roll hall of fame isn't literally about that particular style of music, but more ment as a broader term for popular music. Like for instance the popular music bizz is just as often referred to as the rock and roll music bizz. To say it with Billy Joel: "Hot funk, cool punk, next phase, new wave , dance craze, anyways, it's still rock and roll to me"

I think George Michael and Missy Elliott getting in is completely fair given their overall impact on popular music. But I also agree that Iron Maiden should have been inducted many years ago given their overall impact on popular music.

Yup, exactly and that’s why my preference would be to call it the Popular Music Hall of Fame but that doesn’t quite roll off the tongue and have the same cool vibe as Rock and Roll. I love bands like Chic and Earth, Wind and Fire and I love artists like Chaka Khan and Roberta Flack, all of whom belong in the Hall of Fame. But nobody can look me in the eye and tell me that George Michael and Snoop Dogg are rock and roll artists. That doesn’t make rock and roll better and it doesn’t make it worse but to put everyone under that one category feels silly to me.

Ya know, Tull and Thin Lizzy belong in there too. It’s a crime that Tull isn’t in there. They wrote one of the most iconic rock and roll songs of all time.

Rage against the machine - that’s a rock artist. Cheryl Crow is a rock artist I suppose.
Link Wray I understand that in terms of the rock part. Not sure a lot of rock fans are familiar with Link Wray

For whatever reason, this business wants to spotlight mostly pop acts as opposed to rock acts, but now they seems to have shifted to rock acts being in the minority

I do enjoy the TV broadcast when it includes the reunification of fractured bands, but otherwise I don’t generally follow it.

I mean, if they're going to include the poppier side of rock, then should Supertramp be in there way before George Michael and Missy Elliot?
