  • Geddy's favorite all time singer....

Surprise !!!! It's Jon Anderson. According to rockandrollgarage.com and @theProgCorner

The singer that the legendary Rush vocalist, keyboardist and bassist Geddy Lee said that is his favorite of all time.

I know for a fact that Geddy had an affinity for Terry Jacks as well. Why? Because they both had joy, they had fun, and they had seasons in the sun. But Terry is never, ever given proper credit by an Canadian singer or musician. He should be more popular than Boxing Day! ;-)

Thank you for sharing. Geddy is right! Jon has the voice of an angel. But I think also Chris had a beautiful voice, and singing together they made a wonderful sound. Have a great day!

            I would’ve guessed Robert Plant.

Didn't Chris Squire say the Geddy Lee is like two YES men rolled into one?

Around the time of the first few Rush albums, you'd probably be right. The first two Rush albums are heavily Zepplified. But they also state that the Who and Cream were also big early influences.

I believe it was on the Limelight documentary that Geddy recounted meeting Robert Plant. He and his wife were vacationing in Morocco and while letting himself into his hotel room, he glanced down the hall and saw Robert Plant also going into a room. They saw each other and said, "say, aren't you...." The guys and their ladies then went out to dinner that evening.

                    Great memory...
When Rush played the Long Beach Arena in 1979 a friend and I stumbled upon Geddy at a small eatery in the afternoon before the show.
We got to chat with him for a few minutes and I asked him if he was a Yesfan and he told us they were his favorite band. He asked us if we liked Tormato and turns out he loved it, particularly OTSWOF. When I mentioned that Release Release and Arriving UFO sounded Rush influenced he laughed and said 'probably not'.
