    Steve Hackett - Shadow of the Hierophant Daily Doug

    He does tend to get hung up on lyrics, and approaches them too literally, but I think that's because of his background as a composer of choral music, and the texts he sets.
    The end part of this track always reminds me of the last movement of Sibelius's Fifth Symphony.

    Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

    The horn motif that begins about 1.15 into this final movement of Sibelius's Fifth Symphony. Legend has it that it was inspired by Sibelius seeing swans flying low over a lake in the Finnish forests.
