Renaissance

At the risk of being disrespectful to Renaissance, I always thought that they could have been like a triple-A team for yes. Every one of them could have stood in for their counterparts in Yes. Their 1978 album "A Song for All Seasons" was, in my view, significantly better than "Tormato" which came out the same year and 1977's "Novella" remains a masterpiece.

There’s a lot to like about this band. But what I like best is that, like Yes, they represent a kind of emotional side to what is often such a cynical genre, that is prog.
