    Motorpsycho

Norwegian band Motorpsycho are playing HRH Psych in Leicester in June 2023!!

And the venue is at the University! Irony of ironies!
I'd been hoping they'd come to London, and I'd hoped to be able to travel down, but now they're coming to a venue only a mile from my living room!
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

What I like best about Motorpsycho is their ability to reinvent themselves. Multiple times.

I have a couple of their albums (including the most recent one), but haven't listened much. What I've heard so far reminds me of Hawkwind a bit (another band Ihat would like to hear more of).....what do you recommend ?

Difficult to offer recommendations, as they've undergone several shifts in approach, style and content, and have been prolific, as well as diverse.

        You might try:
        Still Life With Eggplant
        Black Hole/Blank Canvas
        The Death Defying Unicorn
        Here Be Monsters

They must have produced well over 20 albums, including several boxsets, as well as various collaborative projects. I've never really understood the urge to offer comparisons to other bands as a like or dislike scenario, along the lines of 'if they sound like [insert band name] I'll probably like them, but if they sound like [insert band name] I probably won't". Motorpsycho are a band from Norway who sound like the band Motorpsycho, who come from Norway. Hawkwind sound like the band Hawkwind. It feels a bit like folks try not to risk straying out of what is already known and familiar, at least not all at once.
