I read an online article with John Lodge around the time of f Graeme's passing that he doesn't think that the Moodies will tour again. I got the impression that Justin H was reluctant to go out as the Moody Blues, given that two of the founding members were no longer with us- I can understand the sentiment- But I would love to see a final tour or tribute perhaps as Blue Jays or just The Moodies. We do have Mike Pinder and Denny Laine still with us- the later being active as a performer- might be nice to hear some of Pinder's wonderful tracks back in the repertoire- and whilst there is only Go Now from the original album as a hit,- Im sure that they could find various tracks to include from across their respective careers- a nice idea but probably very unlikely.... let alone having Pat also part of the show?

Yeah, I think the MBs are done. John and Justin are touring separately, and somehow I think that it's "a thing". I get the feeling they're on "the outs".
I think that there is ZERO chance of them connecting with Denny, Mike, or Pat, especially after spending decades pretending none of them were ever in the band. Go to their website: you'd never know that Denny, Mike, Pat OR Ray were ever in the band either.👍 1Comment

Article back in May of 21 Lodge said that Justin does not want to tour with the Moody's any longer and I read somewhere Justin stated after Graham retired that he felt the Moody's no longer existed, I think it comes down to so few of the core band was left he thought what was the point of continuing. No farewell album or tour, it just ended. I think that's a great way to go out.Comment

I think the Moodies faded away instead of burning out, in contrast to what Neil Young might have advised. ;-)
I think perhaps by Hayward more or less driving a stake through the heart of the band, it was probably better than endlessly bringing in new members...is this really Yes, I mean, the Moody Blues? You know the arguments. And I agree there was probably zero chance of bringing back any past members. Pinder's been retired since the 70s and I can imagine he'd have any interest. Moraz sued them, so bringing him back would be a non-starter.

"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy SherwoodComment

It seems that John Lodge is the one Moody Blue still flying the MB flag and appears the most active. Like Steve Hackett, Lodge kinda has his own 'Moody Blues Revisited' thing going on. MB may be done, but Lodge is still out there playing some of the material.👍 1Comment
