It's really hard to believe that Jerry would have been 80 this year! I often wonder what he would think of the path Bobby & Co. have taken after his death, especially the choice of John Mayer for Dead & Co. For me his death took most of the fun out of seeing the rest of the band live because there was a certain magic between Jerry and Bobby that came from their long friendship that is totally unique and simply irreplaceable. Trey was OK during the Fare Thee Well shows we saw in Chicago and better than John for sure, but even Trey was a mere shadow of Jerry (I am not a Phish fan but I do like Trey's solo electric band). I always thought a really good replacement would be Mark Knopfler but I guess we'll never know...
