  • New Glass Hammer Album Out in October

Glass Hammer will be releasing a new studio album, Arise, on October 27, 2023.

Not much is known about the album, but that's the cover art above this text, and it's being categorized as a concept album.

The band is accepting preorders now on this website. Physical media buyers get an autograph, digital download purchasers get a bonus track- when pre-ordering directly from the Glass Hammer website, that is.

This is coming off of, but presumably unconnected to, the trilogy of albums they completed last year.

I don't know if I've seen any lineup announcements for the album, but I'm sure Steve Babb and Fred Schendel (The founders of the band) will be on it. Hannah Pryor joined the band for last year's album and did a good job singing, so hopefully she sings again on this one, though I don't have any inside information there. Aaron Raulston was the drummer of record for the previous album. There is no dedicated person who's separate role is to play lead guitar anymore (There used to be)- Fred and Steve are taking care of that in addition to keyboards, bass, and whatever else is needed.

"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood
