    The Lamb Lies Down Broadway

I'd like to open a thread just for this album. It is a masterpiece, lyrically, musically conceptually. So many highlights, despite the tension behind the scenes this is a magical record, timeless.

It is up there with the greatest of Yes for sure.

I like this thread. I adore Genesis: it's my fave band after Yes and The Who. I have to say that I love all the Genesis' Albums, the first ones as well as the more recent ones. TLLDoB is a masterpiece: In the Cage is absolutely great, expecially the live version. I don't like too much the "easy" songs by Phil, f.e. Follow You Follow Me. But it's always Genesis. I hope to see Steve Hackett live in Turin, Italy, this year. But my favourite Genesis's member is Tony Banks: I love every single note coming out his piano.

Big Genesis fan but The Lamb has always been a hard listen for me for some reason. It for sure has high points (Cage, Lilywhite, Carpet) but really hard for me to listen from start to end like I can with CTTE or Tales.

Classic double album syndrome in that its cumulativly 3 sides of greatness and one side of filler. I think it's probably the only PG era album I can listen to though. I am firmly in the PC era, loving all the stuff from ATOTT through to WCD.

Tony is the king, he brings the atmosphere that makes Genesis stunning.

Yes, I agree with you. Even the worse Genesis' songs always have got moments of light in the piano solos of Tony Banks.
