Who is your favorite prog band or even non prog band (or bands) after Yes?

Or if Yes is not your favorite then who is your favorite? You can give a top three or five list if you want. For me number two would probably be Rush with Genesis after them at number 3.

I changed the title at the last minute because there could be some on here whose favorite bands are not prog.

        Thank you, my friend.

Yes, The Dan, The Fab Four and The Greatest Rock n Roll Band of all time, are quite the foursome.

          After Yes ?

In no particular order - Sabbath, Zep, Rammstein, Hawkwind, Genesis, Metallica, Priest, Sisters Of Mercy, Springsteen, Young, I'm sure there's more.

          Hawkwind, there you go.

Anything I discovered or listened to in 1984/5 sticks with me even now and I'll probably always have the time of day for them. These would be:

ELP, Queen, Rush, King Crimson, Yes, Zeppelin, and Genesis. At one point or another, all of these were my 'favorite band'. But, gun to my head, I could only choose one? I'll most likely have to say Queen. Perfect band. It took death to do them part. Not a bad album, no, not even Hot Space.

Out of all of these, Yes is the last one standing.

There are plenty of other things, however, that I've liked before, during, and since that time period, which are often knocking on my favorite bands' doors.

But of those mentioned, there's always a cozy feeling of 'Aw cool, so-and-so has a new album..." whenever something does crop up. My faves may be fading away, but there's plenty of other things to go with.

                    ZZ Top

I like lots of other bands, but w those bands I'm a real fan.

Some others I'm a little less committed about: Queensryche, Doobie Brothers, Moody Blues, Kings of Leon, Black Sabb/Ozzy, AC/DC, Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Creedence, Zappa, sure I'm forgetting an essential. Fleetwood Mac.

The ones I probably listen to the most frequently (though not necessarily the later music):

Genesis, Camel, Queen, ELP, Moon Safari, The Beatles, Curved Air, Caravan, Pink Floyd, Kaizers Orchestra, Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson, Jethro Tull, Blind Guardian, Sigur Ros, Nightwish, Dead Can Dance, David Bowie, Todd Rundgren.

And Jon Anderson, Jon & Vangelis, Rick Wakeman, White.

                          And Bach...

(Likely more will come to mind after I post this.)
