Always loved this one hit wonder. Has an outro guitar solo that I wished would go on a bit more. Maybe that was the point.

Greatest one hit wonder of all time singer would be the one and only Tony Burrows, who sang on not one, not two, not three, but four one hit wonders, from four different groups, fabricated or not. Opps, make that five. You might not recognize the name, or all four songs, but if you are a certain age, or watched record collection commercials, you know, or have heard at least one of these great, and catchy songs.

    and a bonus song.

For example, if somebody asked who Eddie Murphy was, I wouldn't expect the response to be "that guy who sang Party All The Time".
Ahhhh, and along those lines, don’t forget Don Johnson’s Heartbeat. 😆

Here's my favorite one hit wonder. I lived in a dorm in college with the brother of the guitarist in Tommy Tutone and got to see them live and meet the band, and they were very good actually.

I don't know the chartings, and of course Barbi Girl was huge, but there is a really good song on that album that did make radio play, in addition to that song.

This is one of my favorite one-hit wonders. The story of this band is an interesting one (at least to me), I believe a rather notorious documentary was made about the bass player by his...son? I think? Anyway, I love the album this song comes from, I bought it after I first heard the song and I imagine there is a die-hard coterie of fans of it, out there somewhere. There was more than one single, but this was the only hit.

Focus also had Sylvia, a successful single in the UK, and David Essex had further singles success with Lamplight and Star.

It's not rocket science, is it? a band or artist who has one hit single and then no more. however many bands they are in.

I mean I suspect anyone who saw Focus yodelling on UK TV would never buy anything by them again...

'Rock On', however, had a an afterlife. I *love* this jazz-rock [?] version by Henry Kaiser, alledgedly the first take:

Also by this definition Dream Theater is a one hit wonder band, they even admitted it on their Greatest Hit (...And 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs) album.

Don't pretend that Doctor Jones doesn't exist! Blasphemy! It became the group's second No. 1 single, topping the chart for three weeks.

Wow. This was one of the first songs to grab me as a kid. Galveston. Born Free. Listenin' on the radio. Always made me a bit scared. Without realisin' too much about war and environmental destruction. The tone of the mountin' chaos was inescapable.

    The song still resonates today.

Def a wonder. A one hit wonder.

    Exactly, I wasn’t really clear.
was listening to it the other night, and struck me as so good and in its own realm, and what if Zep never hit the big time , except for this song.
