“And You and I cross over valleys of endless seas”

Close to the Edge and Tales From Topographic Oceans

Eight miles high over the Pacific for five hours gives you an interesting perspective. Looking at an ocean the same color as the sky, provides one with a view of the cover of Mirror to the Sky, only instead of stars you are seeing clouds.

So what do you listen to when you are in paradise?
In The Garden of Eden – Iron Butterfly
    Permanent Vacation - Aerosmith
Are You Experienced – The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Live in San Diego ’68 – Cream
After Bathing At Baxter’s – Jefferson Airplane
    Sgt. Peppers – The Beatles
House of the Holy – Led Zeppelin
    Electric Warrior – T. Rex
    Bare Trees – Fleetwood Mac
Green River and Cosmos Factory – Creedence Clearwater Revival
Their Satanic Majesties Request and Tattoo You – Rolling Stones
Ceremony and Under the Midnight Sun – The Cult
Rio and Seven and The Ragged Tiger – Duran Duran
Gaucho and Two Against Nature – Steely Dan

And of course, greatest hits by the:
    Beach Boys
    Duran Duran
    Deep Purple
    T. Rex
    Eagles
    Steppin’ Wolf
    and
    Traffic

"So I turned around and forty thousand headmen hit the dirt
Firing twenty shotguns each and man, it really hurt
But luckily for me they had to stop and then reload
And by the time they'd done that I was heading down the road"

Finally got my nasty little hands on the latest Pattern Seeking Animals record which is basically the Arc of Life of Spock's Beard. I'm loving it. There's a 13 minute song on it and I'm hoping this is foreshadowing to the new Yes. The new Yes album which still has not reached me.

          Playlist for a Thursday Morning

Stevie Wonder – Golden Lady (1973)
Stevie Wonder – Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing (1973)
          Stevie Wonder – He’s Misstra Know-It-All (1973)
Tori Kelly - Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing (2017)

Three tracks from Stevie Wonder’s 1973 album Innervisions, his sixteenth, whichwon Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Engineered Non-Classical Album in 1974

Golden Lady wasn’t released as a single, but received considerable radio airplay.

Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing, on the other hand, was the third single released from the album, in 1974, and reached number 16 on the US Billboard Pop chart, number 10 on the Cash Box Top 100, and number two on the R&B chart. Wonder sang all vocals and played all instruments except for some of the percussion .

Wonder played all instruments except electric bass (played by Willie Weeks) on the last track on the album, He’s Misstra Know-It-All. It was released as a single in the UK, where it managed to reach the top 10, peaking at number eight on the UK Singles Chart.

Tori Kelly’s cover of Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing is from the animated film Sing, where she played the part of the Meena the Elephant. Her vocal talents are extraordinary, as well they should be when attempting a cover of a Stevie Wonder song.

I've yet to check out Pattern Seeking Animals. I agree they are pretty much an Arc Of Life/Yes scenario with most of Spocks Beard being in PSA. I generally like Ted Leonard on vocals, I've been rediscovering Enchant recently.

Later on some Billy Sherwood Solo or some Circa, see what my hand grabs off the shelf 😊

The ‘FFH poll’ diverted my attention before I got to Circa, so it was FFH (Benoit) instead.

Drama on now, Loud……..until 12:30 and those soapies again……and my time to get something productive done. 😁

Not currently, but this afternoon following my recent “yes barrage” in the household, my wife countered with a Police and Sting b-side barrage of her own…………but ten of those only lasts about 30 minutes 🤣🤣. And ten of my songs, well, we know……hahah

I get a real late Police Synchronicity vibe durin' parts of All Connected. So maybe that's a compromise that may work for the both of you???? 😉

Oh man, I gotta listen again now. And play for her in the morning. And see. 👍👍.

I think(!) the closest overlap I came up with was David Sancious playing for both Jon and Sting. If they could just do a tune together, something along the lines of saving the world, all would be right…..haha. Summers-Fripp is the best overlap we have. But we do like many similar bands - others not so much though also.

Listened to All Connected again, but I didn’t get that police vibe, I fell asleep though (but it was 3am).

yeah, Andy and Stewart have those proggy roots 😊👍.

I’ll ask Sting about it when we see him AGAIN in September 😆😆
