    It's only static
The key defines the scale we climb
To at last perceive we are
    We are contrast in harmony

DT. Excellent choice. Have you seen them? I have never been able to go when they have been in my area. Coming around again this summer. So maybe this time 🤞🤞.

      Rocking Prog! 😁😁

That's one of the better DT ones. I've seen them twice, but that was before I was more familiar with them. They opened for Yes one of those tours, and even played a chunk of Machine Messiah -probably because Jon Anderson wouldn't touch any Drama material with one o' Mike Portnoy's drumsticks. Might to pull out a couple Dream Theater albums soon for when I'm in a rockin' mood.

Question: It's the 2nd of May. What's the first complete album you've listened to so far this month? Mine:

Devo: Oh No It's Devo (1982)
        Enchant: Time Lost (1997)

I think I’m inspired to put on Marillion-Afraid of Sunlight, after reading some of the chatter in the other thread.

DT in my area early July. Unfortunately the show is in another crappy part of Philly. Also playing MSG Theater in nyc. Anyone familiar with the ‘theater’? Is it a small area of the Garden or separate in the complex? Been in that station a zillion times - you’d think I would know 😆😆😆.

For those of you into synthesizer sounds: ‘Stormwarning’ is my favorite Steve Roach album. Most of his albums are mellow jello but this one is hyper fast. It is amazing that one guy can play this live without any help. Most of it rips, but when he slows down, he plays at the speed of ‘Rubicon’, my vote for Best Tangerine Dream album. If you are into more soothing sounds, Between Interval’s ‘Radio Silence’ is more ambient and mysterious.

If you like Bowie’s ‘1.0 Outside’ you should like his ‘Leon Suites’. These are his original Outside recordings that the record company rejected as being way too non-commercial to sell. It is only available as a download, but the recording is excellent, with plenty of bass and space to the sound. If you do not like his moody yet aggressive ‘Outside’, then you will HATE ‘Leon’. ‘Outside’ is a VERY demanding album, and it is almost hard to listen to something right after it. But ‘Buddha Of Suburbia’ makes a nice companion piece to it, with it’s instrumentals meshing well with the overall sound. As for the book, I do not know how Ash got through it, but I read about different songs and albums at different times and wound up being confused months later as to what I had read and what I had not. If you do it my way you might want to have a pencil with you to check off what you have read. At 800 pages, it IS exhausting in detail.

These guys. Sort of a cross between Pink Floyd, Triumvirat, ELP. Genesis, and Mystery

I like some Eloy, great German space rock outfit. The vocals may not be for everyone, but the above album and Silent Cries & Mighty Echoes are indeed rather Floydy. 1977-84 is my go-to Eloy, though others may prefer earlier, guitar & organ dominated psychedelic material. Metromania is another firm favorite.
