    Yes -Yes
I bought Yes and Time and a Word around the same time, probably in 1974. I recorded them into cassette, side 1 of Yes, followed by side 1 of Time and a Word, them on the flip side of the cassette, sides 2 of both albums, and I'd sling my portable cassette player over my shoulder and listen to them in my morning paper-round.
I really love those first two albums!

Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Yes - Time and a Word
The propulsive energy of both the first album and Time and a Word are still thrilling and captivating.
With the extended version of the first album, I hear their brilliant rendition of Something's Coming and Everydays now as a part of it. I suppose it helps being a fan of Steve Stills/Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, Lenny Bernstein, the Beatles of course, and Ritchie Havens, the whole 60s psychedelia scene, without which much of what came after wouldn't have.
I always wanted the guys to return to tracks like Then, especially, the Prophet, Harold Land and I See You live....

This time. From himself. DBA's Love Among The Ruins has some of the same bars as A Living Island. Should be more cross-pollination between these 2 groups. Yes should cover and reinvent Skyscraper Souls. Chris Braide is quite happy to be a studio boffin. Quite happy to work with Sia, Mark Almond, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Squeeze. Get him in Yes as a writer/ producer/ 2nd keyboardist.

                        Marillion: Brave

A grower. Maybe quite an important album. Certainly subject that doesn't get addressed very often in popular music.

Trivia: The cover shot was a model from Texas. Found out much later by the band. Taken randomly from a portfolio. Words are handwritten text by Anne Frank. The Anne Frank. Again noone from the band knew. Chosen by graphic designer because they looked good and were near illegible.

I love that arrangement of Onward. It has distracted me for an hour working out the really lovely acoustic guitar accompaniment 😄. He's using the modal/folk DADGAD tuning with some very nifty finger-picking. It starts in the key of D then modulates 3 semitones up to F, which is the key the Yes version starts off in ( they modulate one whole tone up to G half way through). He uses some gorgeous modified chords, ending on a juicy Bflat major7 with an added 9th. Thanks for posting!
