    Current Yes Music Listening

I thought I'd make a separate thread just for Yes related listening. Just feels like a separate topic to me since I can only listen to Yes right now, myself. Don't know how it happened but it's all Yes all day, for the past couple weeks.

    Today in the car:
Yes In A Word CD 2
    9012Live home made cassette

Turntable behind me at this desk should have Tsongas on in but I need to wash my hands first why am I using the keyboard anyway though, we may never know. Or maybe we do, and it's that I just don't really respect this thing, do I.

Earbuds / phone - this compilation I made called Yesshows 2, live tracks not on Yesshows from the Tales thru Tormato albums. I got tired of hearing Roundabout and
ISAGP in so many shows, and so I created a series of fake live albums that have almost no repeats from one to the next.

I might have gone a few days or a week in the 70s of only listening to Yes, but those days are long gone. I can't imagine being that confined now, I think I'd go mad.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Onto the third disc of the In a Word box in the car. Tsongas side B loaded up on the record player behind me but I'm probably raking leaves to the sound of earbuds. I will probably pick something by Yes.

Just got thru spinning the Tsongas vinyl, thought I'd report in and say it's great. I forgot how different Jon sounded during those couple years, not a bad sound, but it sounds like he's got a cold.

I'm also finding that "My Eyes" sounds like that SNL Halloween skit with Tom Hanks, where he plays David Pumpkins. Possibly my all time favorite SNL sketch (not a big SNL fan generally but that just gets me).

And adding levity, we get Jon yelling "Shake it shake it baby!" multiple times in RoL.

            Here's some pics:

Cool stuff. Had the DVD back in the day. That inflatable set still has me in 2 minds. There were some funny photoshopped memes of it at the time. Great setlist, show. Primo stuff. So Spinal Tap when some of the inflatables sprung leaks ☺

I am a Shuffler by nature.

So I hear Yes music every day, but it's more like 2-3 songs a day.

                    Recently, it's been :

                    Fragile (ARW)
                    Astral Traveller
America from The Word Is Live
                    Lightning Strikes
                    Future Times/Rejoice
Heart of the Sunrise from Yessongs

Here is my live Yes setup -

I have these basic mp3/flac folders, .... one folder called "Live shows" with the complete shows in it... Then these other folders are designed to ward off Roundabout (& other redundancies) fatigue. Conceived as live albums of songs by era. Three of them are straight up existing Yes live albums.

YES BBC (I don't know why this one didn't get a roman numeral) (maybe it's 0)
                        YES LIVE I ~ Yessongs
YES LIVE II ~ Yessongs 2 (NYC 2-18-74 Tales songs only)
                        YES LIVE III ~ Yesshows
YES LIVE IV ~ Yesshows 2 (Relayer tour thru Tormato tours, songs not on Yesshows but from those 3 albums)
                        YES LIVE V ~ Early 80s (Drama & 90125 material)
YES LIVE VI ~ Late 80s (BG ABWH Union yeah I know it was 91)
YES LIVE VII ~ 90s (Maryland Heights 94, some 10/17/97, couple tracks from Keys (America & Onward)
YES LIVE VIII ~ Yessongs 3 (House of Blues, Tsongas)
YES LIVE IX ~ Non Anderson (Live from Lyon/Mohegan '08, 2012 Melbourne/Cruise to the Edge '15/San Jose '14)

Listened to The Quest disc one in the car today about one and a half times, will resume tomorrow ... I really need to figure out what the lyrics are, I've lost that discipline of reading the words to get to know albums. So many times all I'm hearing are vowels. There's gotta be some consonants, maybe if I turn up the high end.

                              Right now though:
