Zappa's 'classical'/orchestral work can be something of an acquired taste - seemingly written to be ridiculously complicated for its own sake. However, sometimes I am in the mood for this sort of thing. As with all things Zappa, there is brilliance in there. My favorite composition of his of this type has got to be 'Duprees Paradise' from The Perfect Stranger. The Dog Breath Variations and Sad Jane are up there for me as well. Something tells me this would be great to hear live, as a classical concert. Not exactly in most cities' symphony orchestra's repertoire, I'm sure.
