Oh. And I kid you not. 2 films to be released into this unprepared and quiverin' world...

    1. Blackbird. Lord of the Dance dude Michael Flatley stars in vanity project where he plays an Irish mix of James Bond and Casablanca. Hilarious review in the Irish Times.

    2. Lawrence Fox, the Stephen Baldwin of the Fox actin' dynasty plays Hunter Biden in a Breitbart produced film. About his laptop presumably. Reviews are breathtakin'.

Am revoltingly curious to watch both in a morbid sense of curiosity and revulsion.

Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited Live: Seconds Out & More (2022)

Filmed and recorded at Manchester O2 Apollo, September 24, 2021.

Fabulous! As good as a concert film could be and should be. Superb band totally on the material.

The BluRay also has four videos of tracks from his last solo album, Surrender of Silence, and a behind-the-scenes documentary from the tour.

youtube. Came up. Great classic Hitchcockian thriller. B+W. Innocent man caught up in a web of intrigue centered around his amnesia. Filmed in NY it looks stunnin'. Even in 64 the city looks amazin'. Central Park surrounded by buildin's that reach up to the sky. Looks like it's been around 1,000 years.

Characters all are hardboiled, talkin'in that wise guy way beloved by NYers. Peck is massive. Obviously an actor with tremendous gravity. That voice. The soundtrack is by a young Quincy Jones. Sounds great. Jazzy. Spiky. Hauntin'. A young Walter Matthau appears as a detective on his first case. Great funny wisecracks between him and Peck.

The psychology angles are very au current in those days. Peck acts his breakdown very well. Cary Grant would've also acted this part. So a smart, urbane mystery with great cinematography, soundtrack and actin'. A treasure I never knew existed. Like Denzel. Gregory doesn't make bad films. Highly recommended.

I tried to download that but couldn't. My tablet is usually pretty good at handling downloads at night with my slow DSL, but it just wouldn't do it. I'll try again tonight.

              THE TENTH MAN

Adapted from the Grahame Greene novel.

Starrin' Tony Hopkins, Kristen Scott Thomas and Derek Jacobi. Not too shabby cast. Set in France durin'and after WW2. Hopkins is a lawyer who is accidently swept up into jail. Is about to be executed but buys himself life when he offers a sickly, younger man his large country house and all his money. Young man takes him up on it to benefit his mother and sister who are poor. Young man gets shot at dawn.

Brilliant actin' by all concerned. A young Scott Thomas as the dead man's sister is luminous. Jacobi is devilish. Hopkins is all regret and shame. Both Hopkins and Jacobi pretend to be other men. It's a delightful dance between the three of them. A bit like Jean de Florette crossed with that other Depardieu film The Return of Martin Guerre, when he pretends to be a returnin' soldier.

              Lies.Lies. Lies. Love.

On youtube. Not 1 ad interruption. Priceless.

Used my phone to download them instead. If I hold it really close to my eyes it looks like a big screen TV.

                      CHARADE

On youtube. Free. Just a couple of ads. Lovin' these
old movies. No swearin'. Or Gratuitous sex. Swearin'. Rap music. Frenetic edittin'. Actors come influencers. No pop culture references. Oh. One. Audrey mentions Gene Kelly and an American in Paris. As this is shot in Paris after WW2. Stolen US Army money. 5 ex soldiers killin' eachother over the loot. Audrey and Cary fall in love along the way. Or do they? Hepburn is a perky little minx as you'd imagine. She's terrific. Quite sassy. Cary is charmin' as you'd expect.

Clever and sweet and intriguin' as you'd expect. Mancini score is just icin' on the cake. An MGM Classic. Well worth checkin' out. And again Walter Mattheu steals the show.

Trivia: At one point Audrey's character says "At any moment we could be assassinated!" which was changed to "killed" after Kennedy's assassination.
                      It's been restored here.

Trivia2: Peter Stone wrote this and Mirage with Gregory Peck which I watched on youtube Both crackin screenplays. Mirage had more political/nucleur suspense. This has more romance.

That's a fun movie. Love Audrey H in that.

It's interesting why the movie is in the public domain and available in places like Youtube: Universal forgot to include the word "Copyright" or the © symbol in the notice in the movie, so no copyright! Ooops!
