    Train strike - oh noooooooooooo

The rail unions have announced a train strike for 21, 23 and 25 June:

The action planned for 21, 23 and 25 June is being dubbed the "biggest rail strike in modern history".

Hopefully they will be persuaded against striking, or the Albert Hall gig will be difficult for me and many others.

Impossible for me now so that's that.

‘Our union will now embark on a sustained campaign of industrial action which will shut down the railway system,’ says Mick Lynch of the RMT union

Sounds like quite a mess and that it won't be easy talking the union out of a strike. Good luck and so sorry to hear that Yes plans are impacted!

heard about this yesterday. This really sucks as I am planning to fly in to London specifically for this show and am depending on the train to get into London and the underground to get around. I am looking into advance booking a taxi (at great expense no doubt).

But I wonder what this means for the gig itself since everyone attending will be affected in some way. Think Yes may have to cancel?

FYI. Yesterday I booked a taxi from London City to my hotel (near RAH). It will be around $100 one way (actually I paid in GBP but couldn't find the damn pound symbol on my Swiss keyboard!). Cost as much as my EasyJet ticket...

Fingers crossed that the trains will be functioning enough on Wednesday for me to get back to the airport by normal means....
