Oh my goodness - that’s a strange situation overall. It’s funny because the event center is quite a walk from the actual casino - they aren’t right next to one another, and you can access the venue without going through the casino. Having said that, they do serve alcohol in the venue. Maybe that ultimately was the problem? 🤷♂️ Otherwise, it seems that the problem could have been avoided.
Yes - the show was fantastic! I’m looking forward to next year’s touring and any potential album already! 😎

OK! I am home, showered, and having a glass of wine in celebration of the show. (It's important to do these things in order.)
Well, I reiterate what I said above - I hope someone booted this show because I would download it ASAP. Every Yes show is good - it's Yes performing Yes music, so a certain amount of satisfaction is virtually guaranteed. However, as with most everything, some shows are better than others - this was one of their better shows. I saw the first show at the Keswick last month, and that show was wonderful. If that had been my only show of this tour, I would have been completely satisfied. This show was just that little bit better in multiple ways. So, I have no choice but to think of it as superior, despite the first show I saw being excellent in its own right.
You know, the key to knowing the collective mood of the band really is by looking at and listening to Steve. The other four seem to always be in at least a decent mood, and usually they are all noticeably happy. If Steve isn't happy, they will show it too - they individually might be fine, but they would be concerned that Steve wasn't. They are a band after all. Well, Steve was borderline jovial tonight! Yes, he had a few moments where you thought he might be practicing a few spells that he picked up at Hogwarts by the exaggerated gesticulations of his hands on occasion (he was wordlessly disciplining those who were filming in an extended way - I approved of his disapproval); however, he was in great spirits all night and it showed. There was a symbiotic relationship between the band's being in a good mood and the crowd's being in one - kind of a "good feeling feedback loop". It was just a lovely concert atmosphere. This, of course, inspired the band's performance. They were ALL great tonight! Usually one or more will stand out on any given night, but they really were all great tonight. It would be difficult to point out all the things that were good because I would be giving a blow-by-blow of the whole show.
It was the standard setlist, but, since I like it, all was well. Steve had an instrumental bit before "Clap" during his solo section which might be another piece of his, but it almost sounded improvised. If it was, it was fantastic! If he was playing something else, it was well played. Jon just gets better vocally every tour - he's owning the role, and the songs are very well-served by it. Geoff was fantastic tonight! There are times when he played the Moog in several songs where he played sections just like Rick used to - usually, he puts his own take on parts, but he was very faithful to the original Moog parts tonight, It sounded wonderful! Billy sounded amazing tonight! His tone and his playing were downright delicious tonight. He even dropped what I call a "Chris-bomb" during ST - a little jump, one leg in the air bent at the knee, then landing while pounding a single note with extra-deep resonance. YUM! Jay was excellent all night too! It is so easy to see how much he loves drumming in Yes - feeling and reverence in every stroke! He even threw in a mini-riff on the cymbals during HOTS while Billy played the semi-solo on the bass during the beginning of the song - Billy noticed and looked back with approval, and Jay showed appreciation immediately. Brief glances can say a lot. Just wonderful group interplay tonight.
The only "downer" of sorts was that the central bank of video screens didn't function well all night. During the first section of the show, there were three sections that just wouldn't cooperate; they left the whole center video bank off for the remainder of the show. In a way, this malfunction gave this show a unique visual component, so it didn't rob from the enjoyment of the show. (I hope they will be fixed for Westbury.)
Well, as you can tell, I loved the show. I picked up the program on the way out - I add my kudos for it, just like many have at previous shows. Great tour - I'm glad they did this first before "Relayer". I didn't always feel that way, but, having seen the show, it was a good idea to do things this way. Bring on "Relayer" for 2023!
Glad the show went well! I’m very happy for the band having a great tour, and hope we get an announcement soon about the new album!👍 4Leave a comment:

It is the the first intermission right now (or "interval", as Steve called it, since he is English).
This is a GREAT show so far. This is one of those shows that you hope someone is recording. The band is in a good mood, the crowd is in a good mood (Steve isn't overly disciplining us, so you know that we are behaving and not being overly loud during the quiet bits), the band is playing VERY well - in short, it is show that reminds you why you enjoy going to concerts in the first place.
"Close to the Edge" in its entirety shortly...
